Hey im with ya Lefein, only problem is man I don't got a HDTV..
Plus I don't think I will be getting the PS3 on launch day...so I think buying a Blu-Ray movie just to buy one, would be kinda pointless...
Don't get me wrong, I support PS3, but I don't believe in spending money if you don't have to spend it...

You do realize they only delete the thread(s) because everything you've pointed out has been mentioned a million times in the past, and developers (at other message boards) have assured that those numbers (wherever you get them from) aren't showing you the whole picture.Every time i post facts in a thread about the RSX being weaker then the R500 mods delete the thread.
Anyways, I won't get a bluray movie until around the time the PS3 comes out, cause I couldn't hold onto a new disc for that long w/out wanting to try it and I won't get a Bluray player until maybe 3 years from now. Of course, this all depends on whether or not I get a new HDTV soon, or if money isn't so tight.

1) A internet community will never be able to have a impact on sales. If everyone of us bought a bluray movie on launch day I doubt it would effect the sales chart much. Unless Sony only launches with a few hundred Bluray players.
2) I'm not even sure if I'll be able to find a PS3 at launch, I'm not going to blow 20-40$ on a movie that I wont use for 6-12 months.
3) Why would I care to blow my hard earned money to make a huge corporation richer?

Some of the Blu-Ray discs may have a DVD layer as well, so that you can play the disc on a standard DVD player in low res, and then later, in HD with the PS3...
if they have any of those available, I will probably go for it..

Lefein: This is the best thing I have seen on this forum all month, GREAT IDEAAnyways, LOTS of people are going to watch the launch of BluRay very closely and if they see that more copies of a movie are selling than Samsung players, then they will know that the demand for the PS3 and BluRay is too high for stupid hater fanboys to touch us anymore. So, buy a BluRay movie on the 20th and SHUT THE HATERS UP! Spread the word to ANYONE who plans on getting a PS3, I'd gladly pay $20 to piss off Microsoft and the rest of the haters. Who is with me?

As far as how many popple are active on the forum, I know plenty of people that are not and would love to do something like this (spread the word)
