I will start this off by saying, this is not a flame post against Halo 3, and any flameposts that come into this thread will be dealt with quickly.
This article is about a class action suit against MS proclaiming that they released Halo 3 and it is incompatible with the 360 LMAO
Seriously... are these guys for real? MS has sold how many millions of copies? NEVER has this popped up. Some discs may slip through as being bad, or damaged from manufacturing, but to imply the code is bad is ridiculous. It would crash EVERY 360 if that were the case....
Text for people who don't like to click through:
A court case started in a California district court alleging that popular game Halo 3 doesn't work with the Xbox 360.
The class action, filed by Randy Nunez and others, alleges that Microsoft and Bungie made Halo 3 and stated that it was compatible with the Xbox 360, but that it wasn't.
The filing says: "Defendants knew or had reason to know that Halo 3 was being purchased by consumers for use on an Xbox 360 and that the buyers of Halo 3 were relying on Defendants' skill and judgment to furnish goods suitable for that purpose.... However, Halo 3 does not function with the Xbox 360, and to the contrary, attempted use of Halo 3 consistently causes the Xbox 360 to 'crash,' 'freeze' or 'lock up' while the game is being played."
Microsoft, the filing continues, has had "repeated and mounting consumer complaints and inquiries concerning this operational flaw in Halo 3" but has failed to recall the game or fix the failure.
"Because Halo 3 is not fit for either its ordinary purpose or for the particular purposes for which it was sold, defendants have breached the statutorily implied warranties of the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act."

MS being sued because Halo 3 doesn't work with the 360? HUH?

Um, why did the plaintiff source the "lemon" law, as it applies to consumers rights when they buy or lease new motor vehicles, and in some cases has coverage for used vehicles?
Ugh. Some people.

For some reason, God of War and God of War II never worked with my PS2. I bought new copies of both and they would never work. I had to wait until I got my BC PS3 to play them.
And those were the only games that did that. I was so pissed. lol

It's simple. Buy a new copy. If that fails, THEN sue them.

Its really sad thats like saying if Littlebigplanet had been freezing alot plus the fact the connections are so bad I would sue MM for releasing a poor online platformer network.
But hey can't Game get sued for selling a bloody preowned Champions of Norrath that didn't even PLAY?!! I'm so gonna sue its RARE!?!

The legal system has been broken for years now. No surprises at all actually. Nail McDonalds for making your kid overweight, allow OJ to get away with murder, nail the owner of a dog because when they were breaking into the house, the dog bit them... LOL

Why would they settle something so frivolous? They will send one of the errand boys to court and have this thrown out in no time. Unless there is more we haven't been told, they've sited the wrong platform for their legal action. A lemon law that was written for cars? C'mon.

I dont understand how Americans get away so easily with all this suing BS! Must waste some amount of time and money in courts.

Plain and simple really. They are aware of how much money MS possesses and they figure they can gain a quick buck as MS wouldn't want any negative publicity. Things like this are common and happen all the time. It is like me saying I would sue McDonalds for they are responsible for my weight gain. Wait a minute......I think that happened.

Guess they read this:
And thought...hey look this affects us....instead they forgot to read all of the law, like F34R said, it deals with vehicles and not electronic devices. The law provides that when a manufacturer cannot repair consumer goods after a reasonable number of attempts, it must either replace the defective product or refund the consumer's money.
Me thinks that they got defective disks, so they called MS to try and get replacements, but MS probably refused. But they failed big when they stated the wrong act.

The question is.....does every copy of Halo 3 screw up his system or is just one unique copy? Because if it's the former then I think he has the right to be a little pissed. He would have to buy a whole new system just to play Halo 3.
That's the same situation I was in with God of War I and II.
