deactivate?
account management > system activation
should be able to take it from there, has ps3 / psp option, assuming it's for the PS3 you'd hit that
should be pretty easy
edit: unless you meant something else, hence the question, assuming that's what you meant ...

What does "de-activating" your PSN account actually do?

You can't buy games on that account until it's activated.
It also gives another space for a gamesharer to use the deactivated account.
For example: Since 1 PSN acount can be active on up to 5 PS3s, if one of those accounts are deactivated, then that gives another PS3 a slot to active that account on that PS3.
It's pretty simple from my perspective.Them Crooked Vultures

Well you dont actually deactivate your PSN account, but the PS3 that the PSN account is tied to.
When you buy content from the PS Store, your PS3 is activated and tied to the PSN account you used to buy the content. You can activate up to 5 PS3's at once to a single account, and only activated PS3's can play the content tied to that PSN account. This is how people gameshare betas and games.
So when you deactivate your PS3 when signed onto the same account, it frees up a slot so someone else can log onto that PSN account on another PS3 and use the same content.
LoL. Sorry if thats confusing. Its the best I could explain it.

I really wish you could deactivate..back in the day I made my American account with what was my secondary email, that is now my primary email and I can't get my PSN emails on it anymore. Pain in the ass having to log into my old email every so often just to check for Playstation emails.
Trophy-licious!
