Finally got around to getting a surround sound setup to go with the big Panasonic VT 65" TV.
Onkyo TX-NR579

Along with Boston Acoustic speakers and subwoofer. Entry level stuff I guess but the price was right, and I'm rapt with how it sounds.

Some new movies, all buy 2 get 1 free, apart from Clerks.

And some new nikes to run in.

Jungle and Drum and Bass mainly. Since i've got Serato i've been trying to learn mixing a bit of hip hop and old reggae for a change but thats not going too successfully at this moment in time

It depends what you mean by Laptop DJ. If you mean someone who just uses a laptop to cue up tracks and have the program beat-match for them, then yeah, they're cheating (in my eyes). But now with programs such as NI - Traktor and Rane - Serato and other Digital Vinyl solutions it allows you to still use turntables whilst having the ability to use WAVs/FLACS (though in my opinion Vinyl still produces a much deeper sound so is always my preference) with it and i can tell you its much nicer paying £1 per song than it is paying at least £5 minimum for a 12'' when you only ever really want the A side.
I much rather see a DJ when i go out actually use turntables (even if it is with Serato as that doesn't do beat matching for you so it is still down to skills/technique , thats why i decided to go with Serato tbh) I don't know why but i can't stand seeing a DJ play out on a pair of CDJS' even more so since i sold mine.
Luckily to the nights i go out to they wouldn't allow a DJ to play if they were doing it all through their laptop.
But yeah, it depends what you mean about Laptop DJ as technically i could be grouped with them now but i'm also still a turntablist as i still use it to manipulate the music.Last edited by BoyBettaKnow; 03-23-2012 at 15:05.

Yeah I've been to a few clubs/bars where the DJ is just knocking songs out of iTunes without any mixing and it just doesn't flow that well imo.
Recently I went to see Nero and that was amazing, it's only the second dubstep/electro gig I've been to, first one being a UKF gig in Bristol which was just as good. I'd get moments where I'd stop dancing and just watch how they mix the tracks and be totally confused with all the buttons/dials

Was that the UKF back in February? If it was i was at that night! Good thing about being in Bristol, so many good nights on!
Yeah they annoy me, they're not mixing at all it's like they just fade on song out then play the one thats cued up without any real thought. You can always tell the difference between a really good thought out set and one where they just bang out tune after random tuneI Like Games.

Got MW3 for $40, some friends wanted me to get it and I had $55 on a gift card master card. Figured why not.
Final fantasy XIII-2 + Steelbook was a surprise. Ordered this thing in December 6th, last talked to em about mid-way through February... today it just shows up in the mail out of the blue. o.O

75% off, how could I pass it up? Looked a bit ago for DS1 and 2 on disc, would of costed me something like $35 for two games + two expansions. Need to pick up DS2s expansion for $4-ish, and ill be happy.

You get wireless every where but wired in lecture halls since its more reliable during tests and such. The limits I think results from having 250+ students in the same room on the same connection
\And I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T520. The thing ain't winning any beauty contests but the innards are meaty for my needs.
