I'm thinking about getting a mbp when I'm in america later in the year because of the massive price disparity compared to the uk, is there any reason why I shouldn't? presumably no problems would arise when changing to itunes store location to the uk and other similar things.

I heard somewhere that ⌥ + one of the numbers displays the £ symbol on a us keyboard, it doesn't bother me too much anyway to be honest, thank you both for the help

2 is @ on US keyboards miles away from shift. so makes typing email addresses that little more cumbersome.
3 is £
4 is $
i guess US layout is a tad better for typists though, Quotations "" are probably used alot more than @ symbols.

Actually, if you go to the Keyboard setting in the preference pan in OS X. You can activate the input source option and get a software keyboard on the screen. You can then active the U.S layout and have a look how it differs compared to the U.K layout if you want. Just remembered that.

I was glad to see this earlier today. It won't be too long for me to decide 100% which phone I'll be getting for my 37th birthday!

This is only thing I can think of

There are a lot of Sony products with that design, Which is more of a style, thou I'm sure it ain't exclusive to Sony, just well used by them and over a long period of time as thats a K750i ( in a way the iPhone does look like a modern version of it lol)
But no, that's the only thing I can think of
Shame the press ain't being more specific so we know instead they're just plastering everywhere on the net that Apple ripped off Sony, I wish Sony would say something :-/
I'm sure they're honored

The Samsung F700, released in February 2007, before the iPhone:

Luckily for me, if things stay the same as previous launches it'll launch a few weeks later here than the rumored launch date so I should be good to go for launch.
It went on sale in November of 2007 though. While the iPhone was introduced in January and went on sale in June. Samsung also added a slide-out keyboard during the time between introduction and release.Last edited by Tutankhamun; 08-01-2012 at 16:58.

Twitter notifications in mountain lion is a great idea but is there any way to get them to open in the twitter app rather than safari?
-
08-04-2012 #8798
Not for the Twitter notifications from the system. If you have a third-party client installed, say the Tweetbot Alpha, those notifications will open that app. Although, remember that only apps sold in the Mac App Store can send push notifications (notifications when they are not running) so currently Tweetbot needs to be running to send notifications.
