From what I see there's a lot of people opening the black i5's and finding "scuffs" on the sides and back.

Well this year for the black i5 is anodized and easier to be scratched. The white is made out of aluminum, and people are reporting less scratching. Kinda shocking that this is happening tbh.

Well, jeeze. That'll hurt their resale value. Looks like people are forced to put a tacky case on them now, which kinda defeats the purpose of the nice new design.

If you get a black one that's missing color. You obviously have a lemon and it shouldn't be any issues replacing it.

Meh. I decided to take my chances with the black one. All tech blogs don't make any fuzz about it, so it shouldn't be an issue. We'll find out soon I guess.

I'd wait until after October, if there will be another event to present the iPad Mini/Air. It's not a stretch to imagine there would be updated Mac's as well, with our without a Retina display.

Updated my iPad to iOS6 and i can feel that the new system is faster. I also really like the new app store interface.

mate I was just winding you up, and lets be honest, foxcon makes nearly all of our consumer devices regardless of make.

Just had an hour with my dads black Iphone 5 (no scratches) and whilst it does seem a nice bit of kit i just felt a touch underwhelmed with the whole thing. Ive owned first Iphone and Iphone 4 and after having a good tinker with it ill stick with what ive got at the mo.

Anodizing increases wear resistance. All aluminum has a small passivated layer naturally. It must be something else.

I should've had one by now but O2 decided it would be better to bend me over a desk and shove an iPhone sideways up my nether regions! Probably get one in two weeks when I'm back from the states unless I can buy a a sim free one for cheaper over there

Edit: A quick search leads me to believe that you can't buy a sim free iPhone 5 in America? That's a bit annoying could've saved a nice amount of money if they did

No,i don't think SIM free. But verizon's are unlocked, so you could keep an eye on eBay for one.

Well I am heading out there on Thursday but i've been reading and a iPhone bought in the US wont support LTE in the UK and vice versa. And for that reason it doesn't seem worth me doing. I'll just suck it up and continue on contract with O2

You should if you buy from the apple store. Though they may not start selling unlocked versions for the first month or 2 to cope with contract customer orders.
