Does the fusion drive means they will stop offering both an SSD and a HDD as they used to do?
I think, I remember they had something like a 256GB SSD + a 3TB HDD.

Nope! I love my 2011 21.5", 1TB, 10GB RAM just a little more now. If I want to upgrade the ram again, no problem. Plus, it was the same price as the bottom end New iMac so... I can't believe they've lumped a extra £100 on the price!

You can still upgrade the RAM on the 27". Though I'm not sure what I can use more than 8GB of RAM for.

Well, you can do with an iPad many things you can with a laptop. Pay bills, surf the web, check your mail and then some. So if you are only interested in the above then yes an iPad is like a laptop.

Although I think it's good to have a laptop to transfer movies and music to the iPad.

The great part is that over the years, you can still tell everyone you have the New iPad. It is ageless.

I have a 3 and I will be keeping it. I just need it to do what I need, rather than worrying about specs, and it still does that. The only issue will be down the road if they put new features on the iPad 3.5 and decide not to put them on the 3. At that point, I will probably update to whatever iPad is newest (assuming there isn't another tablet available that I feel will better suit my needs).

The way I use the iPad, I am really at the law of diminishing returns. I had the Original and wanted Retina and LTE (in the USA), which I got with the 3. If I played games on it, I would probably be selling my New iPad at this point, but I don't, so I don't really need the extra power.

I have no interest in the mini, but I can see where it would creep into some of the Touch sales. Many got the Touch because they wanted something similar to an iPhone without a contract. I am sure some of those people will want something pocketable, but for those that just wanted the cheapest iOS, I would not be surprised to see them pay a bit more for the mini. I have always like the Touch as an alternative to the iPhone, but the mini probably fits that better if you are mainly using it around the house.

Id get the 4th gen... I wouldn't buy a brand new device with outdated specs.

Getting all the screen caps done... all uploaded, just have to format the html pages for over 130 images lol.

@Tut and MjW, how long after ordering online did you receive your handset, was it actually 4 weeks?

@F34R, That's the trade off your going to have to live with, depends what your going to use it for really. If your going to use it for specific reasons where a Mac often beats Windows it'll be worth it. If your going to want it just for browsing the internet and maybe a few games, it won't be worth it. At all.

I'm still dying to get my hands on Logic as well as i find Serato SL works better with the Mac operating system and even then i'm still struggling to justify to myself why I need one, even though my needs fit it.

It's based on their software. So, I'm going to say, "no". With it before, I'm guess all the data management between ssd and hdd were done by the users. Now, the OS will determine what goes on the SSD and what stays on the HDD.
