Well mine came today, the screen is beautiful and I love that transparent notification strip on the bottom, it does remind me of the original X10, which ain't a bad thing
I love the HDMI feature, and the speaker is loud, not X8 or X10 mini loud(those phones had the best speakers on a phone ever, nut they are thicker) but loud enough
I was disappointed the Timescape widget is actually missing and been replaced by a generic androidish one, but I reinstalled it
And I do prefer the old theme from the arc or SE GB, looks like they listening to people and toning down on their UI a bit, which is a shame as despite everything Sony always had the best looking UI, I ain't gonna go anymore until I've used it a bit so I can give a proper impression, but alls good so far

Quick question tho. How is the volume in call and incall speakerphone?

My biggest complaint about smartphones nowadays is that todays incall speakerphone quality is equal to old phones regular incall speakers. I hate that Im occasionally forced to switch to speakerphone because I cant hear thru the normal speaker and even then find it difficult to hear.....

The incall speaker isn't great to be honest. I thought it was pretty poor. Even with the loud speaker it was difficult.

That's disappointing. I hate how cheapo phones have better speakers then 5/6/700$ smartphones..... /sigh

God forbid they put any time, money and effort into a useless feature like hearing who your talking to on the phone....... Who really needs that feature anyways right? o_O

SXS's is pretty good, its not loud but clear thou I find it does depend on who you call
it also has a noise suppression option that reduces background noise during calls, pretty neat
Music player is lovely thou, especially the equaliser options.

I posted before about being unsure what phone to get. My wife and I were both getting phones, so I decided to get one of each, and if I didn't like one I'd just trade her and use the other. I got the HTC rezound and she got a Droid razr. So far I'm liking the rezound.

Hey guys, just spoke to a sony rep and if anyone else has the xperia s then they might be interested

1. Cases for it our due in next few weeks
2. Sky go will be available in around 4 weeks
3. Ics probably in 2 months, cant brinf it out now cos of bugs

Just a little follow-up on my venture into a away around having my data throttled by AT&T. Sofar Im having mixed result with my 2 test devices, but it my be due to human error on my brother part. XD

I did my file tweak to my Nexus S and "Supposedly" my brother did the same to his Galaxy Note. I havn't had a chance to see him since we began testing so I am unable to confirm whether or not he did it correctly. He has a tendancy to screw up the simplest of things at times which is kindda why Im the one who tinkers and he tests.... I will find out hopefully on Monday when I get a chance to mess with his phone.

Moving along...Well, He was able to pull down 9.6gb of data before getting throttled... BOoooo, BUT The Sim card trick seems to have worked and he was able to get his data unthrottled.... Interesting..., but YAY!! I wonder how long until they throttle him again this month.... and if the sim trick will work again. More about this later.

Me on the otherhand. It gets a little more interesting.
I have been able to burn through 6.3gb of data thus far and have not been throttled yet. Same device the whole time as I want to go the whole month with this 1 phone to test this afterall.

What is interesting is that while I have been able to pull 6.3gb of data since the start of this months billing cycle (10 days thus far) when I log into my ATTWireless account my data usage shows that I have used 0 data for this month. All my used minutes and sent/recieved text/mms messages show however o_O? My brothers account on the otherhand (seperate accounts btw) confirmed he had used over 9gb UNTIL he did the sim trick... Now it shows data used for the month as N/A. When selecting to view the actual data usage info this appears on the page "UD1542: Data or messaging usage is not available right now. We're working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible." This does not show on mine. I question how long until he is rethrottled and will a sim swap work again? ... Hmmm o_O?

Im starting to wonder now. Did he screw something up? Is it because my phone is 3g while his is LTE tho we are both unlimited LTE plans... Is it because his phone is an AT&T subsidized phone and mine is an unsubbed unlocked device? I'm unsure as of yet. It's an interesting little twist I hadn't been expecting and raises some questions. Hopefully some can be answered when I see my brother and get a chance to examine his Note. I'll keep you posted as this months billing period continues.

And my brother just called to say he's throttled again. ATT account shows 5gb of data use now... He'll try the sim trick later today as he's away from his backup atm.

The beta is just for bug testing. They'll update the official app in the Android Market Google Play Store when it's ready.

And it definitely is an improvement, nice UI changes and the syncing of forums is a welcomed addition.

or even tried one of the market enablers in the playstore to trick the store into thinking you have a phone from another carrier?

if anything, since its a free app, there shouldn't be any issue with me posting it right?

When i try using the website it's says "incompatible with samsung gt1900" which is my phone that i am sure it's very compatible with it.Anyway i downloaded from your link and it works fine,great game.

Samsung is "expected" to finally announce the GS3 in April, but don't expect any NA carriers to pick it up for ATLEAST 5 months after it's announced and released outside the US. If your looking to pick one up in the near future, unsubbed will probably be the only option for awhile if you in the US. Since your in London, I cant say as I do not know the track record for new device releases there if your looking to get one subsidized...

Have yet to tinker with the XS,but have heard good things.

The Galaxy Note is tempting me soo badly. My brother has it and I absolutely love that it is compatible with all my wacom styli. Too bad still no ICS update or even roms available tho...

The HTC One X I'm not to sure about yet. I'll have to play with it and see if I like how Sense 4 skins over top of ICS. I can tell you I'm not too keen on how 3.5 ruins the dialer and contacts app in ICS IMHO. Its exactly the same as in GB.... I LOVE the new stock ICS dialer/contacts app.... Also, why cant they just skin or have custom widgets for the default music player? I don't really need 2 music apps after installin Google music to stream my music from the cloud... /sigh

I'm still waiting to hear from Asus about the freaking Padfone. Im dying of starvation for some more info here... FEED ME ASUS!! FEED ME!!!!

I'm already a little worried since the website has the device listed as quad band gsm, but supporting only 900/2100 for data... /cry

Oh yeah, btw since im here. lol

Quick recap. I am now at 13.2gb of data with another week left in my cycle and have yet to be throttled.
My AT&T account still shows that I have used 0 data this billing period..... o_O?

My brother is now at 12.something and is throttled. His AT&T account confirms his data usage keeping track of how much was used unthrottled and how much used throttled.
It seems the sim trick does work, but it is only temporary and it's not really not worth all the hassle of sim swapping.

We are wondering why AT&T doesn't seem to notice that I am using my data....
The file trick is getting mixed reports on XDA aswell. Supposedly working for some and not working for others. Some reporting data usage is reporting to their account and others not. Maybe we just never noticed before o_O?
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with me not having an actual AT&T device or maybe even the fact that I am using a 3G phone on an unlimited LTE plan?.. After this billing cycle ends I will remove my tweak and see if my data usage starts to be reported to AT&T again or not before trying a different route.

If it continues to not report my usage and I continue to go unthrottled, it very well may be due to me having a 3G device on an Unlimited LTE plan. When I was last throttled, I was on a regular unlimited plan. We'll see...

So i went for the Xperia S, i know it doesn't have ics yet, but is imminent, went with o2, so if i don't like it i can just call them up and swap it within 14 days.
