So I'll be getting a Droid RAZR HD Maxx on Thursday, assuming there's not a huge line outside the store. Just wanted to know if anybody wants impressions?

I'd be interested to know how it compares to the galaxy 2.

I can't provide much of a direct comparison because I havent ever played with a GS2. I'll do a comparison with my brother's GS3 though if you'd like. A couple side-by-side shots, build quality, etc.

EDIT: Damn, will have to wait till the 29th to get it now. Mysterious Moto phone spotted in China, could be the rumored Occam for all I know. I'll wait for the Dive Into Mobile conference to see if anything gets announced. If not, RHD it is.

Does anyone know if the LG Venice (LG Optimus L7) is a good choice? I'm getting it through Boost Mobile. Just wondering what people thought of it.

Depends on what you'll use it for... It's a medium or less spec'd phone.

Well, I think it would be better than the phone I have now, a HTC Merge. It has an 800 MHz processor and EVERY time I exited an app, it had to reload HTC Sense. It got REALLY annoying. The videos I've seen doesn't have that problem of it having to reload the UI. It probably had something to do with the RAM in it.

It'll be an upgrade for me, though. It'll be my first Android 4 phone, so I guess it would be good for a first ICS phone. I would get the Samsung Galaxy S II from Boost, but I can't afford $369

If it's an upgrade, and you're ok with the specs and performance, etc., then I don't see why not.

After the HTC Thnderbolt (my current phone) I don't think I'll ever buy another HTC phone again.

Not that its been terrible... but it didn't live up to the quality i expect when i purchase electronics.

2 weeks until i can upgrade.
Still swinging back and forth between the S3 and the iphone5...

any others that I should consider or wait for?

Anybody got a list of "cons" for the s3???

Updated today my Samsung Galaxy S3 to the latest software and damn do i like it. Functions extremely fast and the new improved interface design is awesome.

get the zte warp sequent if you are with boost, that or the galaxy s2. i am waiting on sprint to bring down the galaxy nexus to boost mobile

For me, the only 'cons' for the S# is the shape.

But after spending time with one, it actually is comfortable on the hades with the soft rounded edges. So really, it comes down to preference of OS.

Only con i have for the GS3 is the ugly pebble purple. Wouldnt be as bad had the side trim been silver or gun metal like the others but the purple on the pebble blue ruins the whole freakin thing... XD

I dont like cases but it annoys me enough that i actually case the GS3... lol

New colour versions of the Galaxy S3 were released and the new kinda block colour looks very sexy. I got the pebble blue one but i would like to have one in that sexy black one cause it looks much more stylish and the black colour suits more to android in my opinion.

Now I understand why you like it. Sorry for the fast conclusion I havent really seen it properly. It has this kinda woody stylish look which looks indeed very cool.

Yeah, sofar only Verizon has gotten the new black and brown GSIIIs. Black shouldve been available from the freakin start..... The brown also looks realy nice surprisingly.

Also, the UK are the only ones I believe to have the new titanium variant. Lucky bastards.

Has anyone been able to successfully get out of the $35ish upgrade fee that verizon and att now impose on consumers?

I won't pay it. I can't wrap my head paying $35 in order to pay $200 for a new phone... in order to lock myself into a 2 year contract that now costs more and takes away my unlimited data...

I'm gonna tell the sales rep: hey I can give you $35 for an extra battery, for a case, for a screen protector, for a charger... but I can't give you $35 for the sake of giving you 35$...

Obviously, go with what's cheaper.

Me, I'd usually go with the option that would get me the device faster (providing the $ difference isn't too much).
