I have a question about duplicate contacts that I hope can be resolved. My normal contacts are stored on the sim card and I have facebook set to sync contacts however it has not done what I was expecting.
What I was after was one contact with both the telephone number and facebook information.
What I have is two contacts with the same name:
John Smith (Sim - no pic)
John Smith (facebook - with pic)
Is there anyway to change is so that it is just one contact?
I have android version 4.1.2 (jelly bean)
Thanks.

You should be able to long press on the desired contact(s) (I think it's only able to be done 1-by-1; but I can't confirm if this is so); then click on 'Join Contact . If you're on Jelly Bean (4.1+) then this should be exactly the method.
Mind you, there is a max of 5 joins/aliases per contact.

I don't think it likes that the contact numbers are on the sim card. If you hold down the contact you do get the join contact option (only on the Facebook contact, it doesn't appear on the sim menu list) but it only lets you link to other Facebook contacts.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Never done it with sim contacts - all my contacts are Google based then I just join them with FB/other accounts if need be.
Have you tried importing from sim then merging with your Google account? Then I'm sure you can delete Sim contacts after; which shouldn't matter as all your accounts should be linked to your Google/Gmail account.

^ got that to work. Imported the contacts the phone and then deleted from the sim so there were no duplicates. Cheers.

Not surprised, just excited...I am still rolling with an original HTC Incredible and I am in severe need of an upgrade at this point, been struggling to hold out until the S IV comes out...it is just a good year so far, Feb 20th = PS4 announcement (hopefully), Ouya comes out in April, the S IV should be out around May/June by my guess, E3 is in June (more PS4 love) and the system comes out later this year (again, hopefully)...this year is just a constant bombardment of awesomeness!

I think it will end up with a larger but slimmer version of the S3 (if that makes sense) 13mp camera, 4.99 1080p screen and that new octa core processor they been showing off lately. other than that bet its business as usual.

I wish they would stop increasing the megapixel counts and instead put better CMOS sensors in there! But I am definitely looking forward to the S4, I am planning on getting it once it comes out, my current phone is the original HTC Incredible and it is on its last legs!
