    Wii set for October?

Who ever that guy is if nintendo finds out who he is he will get fired
A French gaming website has posted a story while unlikely true, does give us some more ideas on the Wii's actual release date. Apparently Wii will launch in Japan on 30th October and the 9th November in the US and Europe. The news came out from a drunken Nintendo executive who had obviously had one to many near Nintendo's Kyoto HQ but for his own protection we are calling him 'Mr Nintendo'.

The date is apparently nothing to do with the PS3 launch and a official annoucement is due in September.

Gamer kid is wrong, the date is probubly approximately accurate.

Nintendo has confirmed that it will be available by the holidays (ie thanksgiving), and timetables from developers with launch titles put their deadline at the end of october.

Not saying those dates are official but they are not unlikely.

Oh and lol @ drunk nintendo executives, I would probubly do the same thing in such an inebriated state, im surprised someone listened lol.

The date sounds realistic and is about what I had guessed. The source sounds completely bogus.

November sounds like a nice date to launch the Wii in Europe.

    Somewhat similar posted here: http://ps3forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=25189

Despite what the Big N has said publicly, publishers and developers have prepping many of their Wii titles for an October release. This in of itself is not proof that Wii will also debut in October, but the data certainly doesn't conflict with the argument.
On top of everything else, this week industry sources have relayed that - in something of a surprise attack -- "Nintendo is planning to launch Wii before PlayStation 3." The latest word jives with publisher release calendars, whose Wii titles are scheduled in many cases for a mid-to-late October debut or, in some cases, very early November

It would be a prudent decision for Nintendo launch a month before Sony. It would certainly be a temptation for any gamer to purchase the Wii before PS3, especially as it's a lot cheaper. Heck even I'm tempted, and as I live in the UK and I'm looking at an over and above £500 price range for a bundled PS3, I'll be in for the long wait for game titles to launch that I really want to buy. But in the mean time, I still want something to keep me preoccupied, and Wii could be an enticing solution.

Yep, it would definatly be a good strategy, though they wont fool me, I've waited 2 years for the PS3, and I can wait another month without a problem

October or early November, the hardware is done now.

    Nintendo Wii- 200 dollars
    Sony Playstation 3- 500 dollars
    Microsoft X-Box 360- 400 dollars
    Some games- 300 dollars
Playing Heavenly Sword, Gears of War, and LOZ:TP on the same day- Priceless!
