    Do you mean the game?
When you are at a pool with a bunch of people, someone has their eyes closed and calls out "Marco" and everyone else has to say "Polo". This helps the person who has their eyes closed tag the other people.
It's like blind tag. And "Marco" and "Polo" is the only way to find out where people are.

    Is that what you mean?
    I never have good "sigs"...

you've never played marco - polo in the pool?

There is one player, called "It," who stays still while the remainder of the players disperse around the pool. The It player then begins to swim around the pool, keeping his or her eyes closed, attempting to tag the other players. The It player can only sense where the other players are by sound, but may call out "Marco!" All the other players are required to respond with "Polo!" When the It player succeeds in tagging another player, the latter becomes the person that is It.

As an added note..when someone leaves the pool (Which is considered cheating), then people say "Fish out of water" like in the game.
    Trophy-licious!

I guess nobody goes to the pool anymore.

I wonder is it just a difference of being raised in America as apposed to some where else or if it is more like older generational stuff. Like in my youth people still had betamax video machines (loser to the VHS tape) and record players.

Man soon kids won't even know what a CD is.....

Yeah it's weird I knew of it as a reference to the game in a pool, but I've never played it growing up.

Same here..I remember playing it more decade ago..and now I still remember it. But I don't blame people that don't know about it because it wasn't that popular.
