I could pretty much easily give a Top 20 or even a Top 30 list of PS2 games, from which all would be serious contenders for the title of best PS2 game. That said, I'd also consider giving my vote to games like Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal and SSX3 (still the best arcadey extreme sports game ever released) as well as Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner, Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, Persona 4, FFXII, Viewtiful Joe, DMC 1 & 3, Okami, Rez, Amplitude etc. etc. There're just so many great games for PS2 that I think it's impossible to choose what's the best.

Final fantasy 10 would have to be my pick for the best ps2 game. But ya I gotta say I didn't buy that many ps2 titles.

well my personal favourite game on the ps2 is the original devil may cry.
and the best RPG of the decade YES thats correct if you havnt got it or played it then just get
Valkyrie Profile 2:Silmeria
nothing on any console even comes close.

My top 5 PS2 Games
5.Silent hill (I was younger back then but this was the first game to scare me, classic horror game)
4.Metel gear solid 3 (Great stealth action and some of the best bosses in any game, the end is a gaming hero)
3.Medel of honour (The atmosthere was great, this game got me into fps)
2.GTA 3(revelotionised gaming)
1.GTA San Andreas(awsome game on a grand scale)
Silent hill and medel of honour are PS1 agames but I didnt play them untill I had a PS2.
