I would give it a 9.5 only because I dont believe in giving a 10!

My favourite console ever delivering top notch games on every genre. Long lifespan and its still going strong

I wished the ps2 had more party/group games.

Have you tried Buzz, Dance Party, Singstar, eyetoy, this IMO was a strength of the PS2

I gave it 8, becouse it really has very good games and feel to it, but there was some things that they could have made better.

PS2 was (and actually still is) a great gaming console, imo the best. There are still lots of games coming out for it, even after PS3-launch (FF / GOW2). Too bad I don't play that much on it anymore. I just can't wait for PS3, although GOW has my attention now .

Because nothing ever deserves 10/10 . I can agree with WhatRuOn for the most part the Hardware is a bit poor but a console is about games and the PS2 delivered some truely epic games.

For me it was the best console i ve ever had and the one that provided me and my friends the most fun times: FF, Resident evil, Wipeout, Tekken, DMC, GOW, Shadow of the colossus, Ico, Gta, GT, PES, DBZ... ( i still spend nights playing PES with friends).

It had all the games that i wanted and i most cherished and some new ones for the road ( DMC,GOW...).

I rated it 9 because i had to trade the machine twice which was boring, besides this issues i would give it a 10 eyes shut.

I gotta give it a 10/10. No console since the SNES gave me such an amazing library of games. Being that I love RPGs so much, the PS2 had all of that and then some. Also introducing some new series.

with games like silent hill, final fantasy, metal gear solid, all the Shin megami tensei games, all the nippon ichi games, devil may cry etc... you couldnt have asked for a better system.

I gave it a ten. Some things do indeed deserve full marks. The PS2 IMHO is one of those things. A superb console which is still rocking along very nicely indeed.

Now that PS2's time is drawing to a close with PS3's launch on the horizon, how would you rate PS2? I would rate it 9/10. It gave me great games, and that is pretty much all that I can ask for from a console.

If SONY wanted too, they could keep the PS2 going forever and ever.
For an SD console, the PS2 is really the max mHz, Graphics and Disc Space needed.

By the way, seeing as SingStar, Eye-Toy and Buzz! are first party games it deserves a straight 10!
Sure some features came later, but from day 1 it was an awesome DVD/Games machine.

If I could I'd give it a 20/10. It's the only system I bought at launch and being backwards compatible it features I'd say about 90% of my favorite games of all time. Not to mention the fact that I still have my launch PS2 put away, it crapped out on me but I took it to be repaired and all it needed was a thorough cleaning and she works like new again. I have a newer model, which I'm currently using. I have a Japanese version of the console. I just pre-ordered the new Compact Japanese console which releases in 9 days in Japan, and I intend to pick up the U.S. compact when it releases here in the United States. ^_^ Love it to death.
