Who says it's bowed out?! It's still going pretty strong despite it's age and despite the next gen having arrived. ^_^

I am in fact male man. LOL

I know the name doesn't really lend itself to revealing my gender but perhaps me telling you that I usually, and used to go, by the name of Tommy V will help. LMAO

Personally, the PS2 was the best thing to ever hit! stepping into the year 2000 everyone expected this huge technological jump, like the old 60's sci-fi shows which pridicted we'll be living on the moon by 2010, lol.

I don't really know what else you could ask for. The PS2 has all the bases covered. Tons of exclusive and first party titles, innovative gaming styles with multiple devices such as, DDR, Gun-Con2, Eye-Toy, SingStar, Buzz!, Guitar Hero.....

The Playstation 2 is still the most epic console on the market!

    Gaming is PS2!

Couldn't agree more. The PS1 really pumped new blood into the industry but it was the PS2 that brought the industry truly into the mainstream. The system is probably the greatest balance of advancement, ingenuity, and fun. It's still going strong even today with the next gen in full swing and I believe it still has about at least 4 to 5 good years left. We're talking well over a decade of greatness. The system has so many games it's ridiculous. Of course a lot of games are not very good, but there are so many awesome titles that you can over look all that. The PS2 when it's all said and done will be looked back on as THE greatest console of all time!

PS2's are still falling of the shelves everywhere like hotcakes, and it's been out for how many years? Like 7? I remember when I first got my PS2, yeah the big ole' one. I was so happy, and that thing ran faithfully up until this very day, still boot it up once in a while for some SOCOM. The only console that I can truly say I would buy it again if it broke. Whoever rated the PS2 a "1", How? Even if you don't like the PS2 or Sony consoles, you have to give respect where respect is due.

    10. I had one for an while, broke when I DROPPED IT, and Sony replaced it for FREE! It is WAY better than the Xbox or Gamecube were.

10 > hands-down the leader of it's generation and possibly one of the best consoles of all-time. Not that I don't like the PS3 but the software lineup for the PS2 is much more appealing for me right now.

hell PS2 is still selling like hotcakes. and sony said it themselves. it has sold more this year then last year, and will do the same next year.

it just had way to many great games and all this time later is still making them.

Can you imagine. Sony themselves could not in their wildest dreams have foreseen the way their console has stood the test of time and has sold so many consoles in it's lifespan which at this point has not even come close to it's finish line.

I would definately give the PS2 a 10. While it did not have the same effect on me as the PS1 it still gave me countless hours of entertainment and a large library of quality games of my own that after over six years I haven't been able to finish. I am not sure if there will ever be another console like it; one with as many games or it's life span.

120 GB PS3 (20gb upgraded) Resistance, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank:FToD, The Orange Box, GTA IV, Genji, Need for Speed Carbon, Assassins Creed, Folklore, Enchanted Arms, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Virtua Fighter 5, The Darkness, Oblivion, Burnout Paradise, Metal Gear Solid 4 Limited Edition, Disgaea 3

I gave the PS2 a 9/10 because it had the best games that I have every played until I took the leap and got a PS3 i will give an 11/10 because it gets better and better all the time. More awesome games are coming out and more on the horizon but with the updates and all that little things that it can do the PS3 will become the best ever!

The PS2 was like a fresh cinnamon roll straight out of the oven oozing and dripping with that awesome topping. There was nothing like it. Straight 10s baby.

    Nice lil bump there.

To think this thread is from 2007 and the PS2 is still selling strong ... Still outselling the 360 in japan...

Looking at the PS2 now half way into 2008, i'd rate it 130 million out of 10.

Im planning to buy my 1st console ( that i never even buy any console in my life ) somewhere in the end of this summer a nice Slim PS2.

My old fat PS2 is dying on me but its still manage to run good. Dam loud as FAN.

If you ask i had almost every console sence Sega/NES came out. Tho i dont have any of the old classic console anymore but my PS3 & 7 1/2 years old PS2 are the only console i have left. ( 71 PS2 games and still growing )

Why give PS2 a 10 out of 10 when it should be 100 out of 10.

Tho i would count GC but my beloved girl has it.

I say a 9. I love the PS2, I love its controls, I love its game library. The only thing stopping it from a perfect 10 was it cruddy online play. I tried playing EA Sports NHL and a few of the Smackdown vs. Raws, and it was always a horrible experience.

I'd give it a 11/10 I mean there's so many games to play from different genres, and you'll keep enjoying playing your old and new Playstation 2 games, so I think the Playstation 2 deserves all the love it got!
