The key is "extra cash". Obviously a car can be very expensive when you're getting new tires and a new battery or paying car insurance. But "extras" would include things like a new muffler, intake, tinted windows, etc.
Basically, the question is where does most of your money go that a good majority could consider a waste?

Is there a way to edit the poll and add in food?
Btw, I myself picked exercising. While it's not my biggest hobby, it's currently the most expensive one. Extra plates every few months and protein powder every other month add up. In a year or so, I'll be spending big bucks on a new TV, PS3, Xbox 360, a few games for each, and a sofa. That's around 3,000 in about 3 months span... I don't spend often, but when I do, I do..."I think gays should marry and be as miserable as us."

For me, I can't really spend anything because of my PS3 Savings, but every now and then, I manage to get some money for spending, and it usually goes to me and my friends on outings.

Beer and tobacco I guess. With all my bills there's not a lot left for anything else but the finest things in life.
Most of my money goes on rent and car insurance, chuck in petrol, food, gas, electricity,
council tax, broadband and charitable donations
and there's only beer and baccy money left to cheer me up.
Can't wait to have kids.

07-04-2006 #10When I get my real job (in 3 years), I'm going to start saving up for my future kids. $50 - $100 a month to go to savings for them. I already have faith that these currently non-existing kids won't get a scholarship for college.

Sadly, food. Me and my girlfriend would love to buy mangas, games and save for her laptop but always when we got to store, there comes something what we don't need, like two big pizzas. >_>

Wow. Anything I want. I think it mostly goes to making myself look good.
mmm.. and then food because In n out is basically the only fast food I'll really eat. And I like eating at restaurants and grocery shopping at Trader Joes and other such hippy like markets.
CDS... and then art stuff.
But I'm a girl and the youngest. So I get money from 3 sources. Work. My mother. My brothers.

I usually spend all my extra cash on food (eating out), DVD's, games, and the occasional movie. Then every so often I actually splurge and buy myself a new clothing item. Not to mention also having to pay my rent, phone, internet, satellite, etc. I wish I always had more money for games.

BTW What the hell is a muffler? I'm guessing its an American term for car-related something?

Being a goalie, I have to spend upwards of $1,000 for hockey equipment. I'm gwtting some new upper body equipment today (around $650), so that's where my money goes. The rest goes to video games and music.
Here's some rough numbers (CDN Dollars):
Helmet - $500
Chest & Arms - $650
Pads - $1,000 (can cost up to $1600, even more if custom)
Skates - $250 (can cost up to $600)
Glove/Blocker -$400 each
Total expense: $2,750
...Yeah, it's an expensive hobby

Often, I spend all of my hard earned cash on music cd's, vinyls and other music related paraphernalia. I have a whole room in my house dedicated to the copious amount of cd's that I own - my own little record shop.
The rest goes on eating out, buying new clothes, paying the bills and buying new games.
