is there a place where we have to "Sign Up" to be on the DS crew?

Not really, the DS crew will most likely nominate the person. The DS leader also looks around for great designers.

And so far I have seen some people, but I will keep an eye on them. Any other DSer's let me know if you have people in mind too please.

we want you to stick around cause most of the ds crew guys leave without notice .So, we have some abandonment issues

To prove urself worthy, just be helpful in terms of graphics/request/competitions... Most importantly be active.

Comments like this help it gives people hope that even if they are not the best at the ol' PS then at least if they are helping it's a step in the right direction.

i cannot say anything about promotions as no one is worthy enough atm from where i stand maybe Cyklops but as i say its a big maybe & i have my eye on the new dude

That's not entirely the case, mate. False hope makes a person strive for better. It motivates them. For example, even if one knows the other is not going to reach their goals/targets, they will encourage them to keep going forward as it give a sense of achievement even if that target is not reached.

I'll admit that I haven't been making sigs recently because I had a lot of personal issues from the start of December but those are now behind me and I'm getting back into it.

just show me you in your best element & i'll explain whats wrong with your work so you can try to improve & make sigs.

I think you had better learn to work as a team, which is what the DS is, and should be.

You have come across pretty rude to a few members and have been reported for it.

i think i am the only one openly giving my opinion thats why...

from what i have seen few other ds guys have similar opinions as me but are just afraid of expressing themselves in publec as they think they will come off as rude...

your way of being open is quite often hurtful to others. perhaps taking a step back and looking at it from their point of view would be a good idea?

perhaps you are but indeed people are getting upset over your comments.

i would suggest perhaps telling people what they are doing well as well as pointing out what they can do to improve.

heres the sig you made for the last sig of the week



the work put into it by you is negligible all you have done here is taken a picture of a girl & added some brushes around her which in my book is not a ****ing sig! alright there i said it. just topaz + brushes not = to sig more works needs to be put it no matter how nice it looks.

now gilly as you say i am very negative i think some of the people in here don't make sigs they just hore topaz & add brushes & pass it on as a sig when its not alright?

heres how a sig is made :

So you are basically complaining because his work is simple and clean? Where in the DS does it say that the sig needs to take time and be complicated? If a user likes the work he does, they will use the sig... if not, then they won't. Easy as that.

Let me repeat - your entire argument is based on his work being simply done. Look at my sig from Kwesnoth. It is awesome IMO. All it was was a photo I found, and he added my name to it. I am very happy with it, it was something I do not have the software for, so having him as a resource is valuable.

thats called riping what you have done right there sir.As you have taken the image from the Internet without the permission of the maker of the image & just added you forums name onto it.

his work is not exactly work when there is not even a decent amount of work put into it.

Using an image from the internet, adding a name to it and using it is not ripping.

Ripping is when you take someone elses work, and claim it as your own. Which neither Cuguy or myself did.

Exactly... the site I got the image from is a free HD wallpaper site so the images were made available for download.

Like Minimal said, it is ok to be critical, but you have to be nice about it. Stop trying to sound like the DS is yours, and that no one else's work is worthy enough.
