The rumours about this are getting stronger, I feel sorry for anyone who bought the Saphire edition if these are to be believed. I had a feeling they would do this after the mass criticism of the blu-ray when it was released which is why I haven't bought it yet

Oh? Was the Saphire Edition lacking? I wanted to buy Gladiator on Blu since I recently saw it on TV and forgot how awesome this film was.

Oh, I thought those were rumors of a new version hitting.
I probably wouldn't notice the visual issues. However if I know a better version is coming out and when, I could wait. I just don't want to wait for something that isn't happening.

A few months I can wait, but there's no assurance of that.

The remastered version has been released in Holland and it shouldn't be too much longer to wait now till everyone can get it. Apparently the picture quality is noticeably superior on this new version.

Any word on the packaging? Do we know if they are going to box it the same as the Sapphire series or will there be markings so we know it is in fact the new release?

Oh my. Good thing I didn't pick it the other day. Guess this ones on the back burnner as well.

How could they do such a thing to such a classic?
