3 Years old, and STILL the most visually impressive game of all time!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTFQp625FqI"]YouTube- Crysis Xtreme Particle Chaos Physics Mod v6.0 in (HD) + Download[/ame]

    :cornut

    PS4? Xbox 720? pffft.
Half life 2(6 year old game) with mods can hold its own visually and gameplay wise even in 2010.

Yes, the video has mods but thats the joy of PC gaming.

    That isn't crysis though, that's a mod released in 2010. Not 2007.

On an engine released in 2007.

Seriously, this shows just how capable Cryengine 2 is.

    Really?

Ok, its a mod released in 2010 on an engine released in 2007 where the core game is still the same with only graphical/physics tweaks. Happy?

    I agree with him

    I actually stopped....

But to me, the "options" aren't that great in the game and it is a fairly aggressive shooter.

It is pretty, and is solid gameplay wise, but at the same token....I have no real reason to continue playing the game right now. I don't feel compelled to return to it after my hiatus from the title.

And I have the ability to run it at its maximum settings 1080p v-synced, on my computer.

impressive physics but godawful art direction, pretty ugly game imo, all the polygons in the world can only serve to express artistic design, which many low budget 2d games trash it in

Only played about a half hour at a friends house, I just wasn't into it. People are still saying that it's the best shooter after all these years though.. so I guess that's saying something.

You do have the option of stealth though. And it is satisfying at Delta difficulty, at least it was for me. It takes time, but is worth it. I've played it many times with different approaches and i've been in awe that how every approach worked so in tune with the differences. But I can definitely see if a person dislikes it.

What kind of hardware do you need to run particle effects like these? They look damn good.

What's exactly wrong with it? The art direction tries to be realistic as possible and it pretty much succeeds. It doesn't lose color either, like some games do.
