Not trying to bump my old thread but the search button does not seem to want to find any Just Cause 2 threads for me.

I have to say that this game so far is my favorite game of 2010 and should definately be considered in the game of the year running. I am 21hrs in to the game and only 13% done. For anyone who has yet to play this game, you really need to check it out. This game is like crack!!!

Weird review actually. Just Cause 2 is way better then an 8 that is just fact. Gameplay this fantastic does not come along very often and your thoughts on the sound are plain wrong. I love the sound of explosions, which vary in sound from destroying oil tankers to trucks to taking out planes 1,000ft. in the air ( then it is just a thump like a faraway firecracker. Surround sound is especially great. Sound wise the only negative to me is voice acting. And sorry but voice acting has little to do with the actual game so its nothing worth whining too much about.

You can do too much in this game as long as you have an imagination. Try, for example, hooking up a boat to a helicopter, go about 40,000ft. in the air and then leap out. Fun thing to is try and get into the boat before you hit the water. Even better when you hit the water moving. Also love hooking people up to the air tanks that fly upward like a rocket. Its just plain hilarious.

Fun > everything else, and this game has 400 square miles of insanely detailed landscape ( the view high up is fantastic that brings with it endless fun. My bro is currently on hour 61 with 62% completion lol.

Also, unlike GTA the authorities in this game can actually keep up with you, especially in a ground vehicle. I've taken nose dives 200ft. off cliffs, jumping out at the last second and parachuting quickly ahead only to turn around and see bullets flinging past my head from the same cop that was following behind before.

Thats my take on the game. Best sandbox game of the past few generations deserves way more then an 8.

True the gameplay is amazing but the sound is horrible and the story sucks. Hard for me to give the game higher than an 8 based off of that. The game is nonstop fun and an 8/10 is a really good score.

This game has an 8.3 rating on metacritic so my score seems to be pretty spot on.

An 8 is fair, the story was crap, the voice acting crap and the game got repetiive if you were going for the plat, still a fun game.

I agree with your reasoning. I'd give it about an 8 in score if I were to review it. Its sooo much fun, but having finished it, all of the other stuff to do: bases to take and places to 100%, its way too boring and repedetive for me.

Beautiful map though...
