Cars in older games that are not in newer games

Is there a list of all the cars which at some point or other were included in the GT series which were left out of subsequent versions?

I would find such a list interesting. If there isn't one, I propose we put our heads together and make one, right here right now.

I suggest that for purposes of this list we compare the GT PSP car list with all previous GT's.

EDITED TO ADD (For all of those people out there who are unfamiliar with GT PSP and its car list-- I suggest instead you throw out names of cars which you haven't seen since a previous GT [ie. GT1-3] and/or which you suspect have disappeared from the series).

    I'll start:

Art Morrison Corvette 1960ish (in GT5P but not in GT PSP)
Astin Martin DB6 (none of the Astin Martins are in GT PSP)
Astin Martin DB7 Coupe (none of the Astin Martins are in GT PSP)
Astin Martin DB7 Volante (none of the Astin Martins are in GT PSP)
Astin Martin V8 Vantage (none of the Astin Martins are in GT PSP)
The Dodge Concept Car (included in GT1 and 2, gone after that)
    Ford GT90 (in GT2 only)
Ford Model T Tourer 1915 (in GT4 and gone after that)
HKS drag car (in GT2, disappeared thereafter)
Jay Leno Tank Car '03 (in GT4 and gone after that)
Lamborghini Diablo GT JGTC (in japanese GT3 only)
Mercedes-Benz Daimler Motor Carriage 1886 (in GT4 and gone after that)
Mitsubishi FTO LM Edition (only in GT1)
NIKE One 2022 (in GT4 and gone after that)
Opel Tigra Ice Race Car (in GT2 only apparently)
Porsche 911 (GT3 only-- and only via cheat)
Plymouth GTX (included in GT2, gone after that)
Renault Espace F1 (in GT2 but apparently gone thereafter)
Suzuki Cultus Pikes Peak Version (in GT2 but apparently gone thereafter)
Toyota GTONE Road Car '98 (only in GT2 apparently)
Toyota GTONE Race Car '98 (only in GT2 apparently-- not to be confused with the GT one Race Car 99 which does appear in GT PSP)
TVR Cerbera LM (in GT1, maybe GT2 as well, but that's it)
Vector M12 (included in GT2 but not in GT PSP)
Vector Wiegert Vector W8 Twin Turbo (included in GT2 but not in GT PSP)
Vector M12 LM Edition (included in GT2 but not in GT PSP)
Venturi Atlantique 300 (in GT2 only)
Venturi Atlantique 400GT (in GT2 only)
Venturi Atlantique 600 LM (in GT2 only)

I hope to see some of these make a return in GT5 but I'm not holding my breath.

Update-- added strikethrough to returning cars in GT5.

Maybe you should not worry about what cars are not in the game as a car list does not exist.

Thanks for the reply, however, I'm not sure about that one. According to the link below this car is actually in GT PSP.

    http://gran-turismo.wikia.com/wiki/G...o_psp_Car_List

    see entry 305.

Although this one is a 71 "special" so maybe it's not the exact same.

Not in which game? A car list does exist for all Gran Turismo games which have been released. You might be mistaking what I'm saying here-- I'm not comparing the GT5 car list vs previous GT's. I'm comparing newer GT's (which have been released) vs. older GTs, with a focus on which cars seemed to have disappeared from the series.

Therefore, while we can't compare the GT5 car list to the GT4 car list, we can certainly compare the GT PSP car list to the GT4 car list, and we can compare the GT4 car list to the GT2 car list, ect.

Maybe I phrased it awkwardly, but I'm looking to compile a list of cars which have appeared in older GT's, and which haven't been seen since their appearance in such and such older GT game.

No offense OP but this thread is pretty pointless. Who really cares what cars where in the previous games, we all just want to play GT5 and the cars that are included in that ( 900 + ).

A more interesting thread would be cars that wern`t in previous GT games that you would like to see but im sure thats been talked about to death.

    Sorry mate

No worries but I don't think it's pointless. Here's a few points of doing this:

    1. Some people, like me, might find it interesting, inasmuch as some people find obscure baseball stats interesting, like the fact that the Devil Rays have given up 2 perfect games in 2 consecutive seasons.

    2. Keeping track of which cars have been forgotten will help us gamers to constructively criticize what IMO are steps in reverse.

    3. Keeping track of which cars have been forgotten will help us gamers to cherish the older GT's which do feature those cars, and give us reasons to go back and play them again.

    4. Maybe if Polyphony sees that some people are keeping track of this stuff it will give them extra incentive to keep certain cars in the series and not let so many classics go off quietly.

    5. Keeping track of which cars have been forgotten may help us make an educated guess about which cars will not be in GT5.

Dude, the first car I ever owned, the *1989 Toyota Supra* was in GT1&2, and it was epic to take my first car on the track. (Not to mention it was cheep enough to afford as a first car in the game too, haha!)

Hmmm. Interestingly there's an 88 and a 90 Supra in GT PSP but no 1989 as far as I can tell (please correct me if I'm wrong). I kinda sorta recall an 89 Supra being in GT 1 and GT 2 but I just did a google search of car lists for the older GTs and couldn't come up with any source for that fact. If you or anyone can confirm either way with a source I will add this car to the list.

Good try but the Fairlady Z 300ZX (Z31) ('83) is actually in GT PSP.

According to this website it's in GT PSP: http://www.pspworld.com/sony-psp/new...ist-010638.php

I'll check my own copy of GT PSP to make sure though.

[Edited to add: Yup it's in GT PSP-- I actually own a red one in GT PSP and had forgotten that I owned it.]

    Keep em coming folks.

It'll be interesting when GT5 comes out to see which cars come off the list and which stay on (and which are added).

I just hope they get rid of the 1 million skylines they had on GT4 that were all exactly the same except for the colour and maybe a letter added onto the name. I mean yeah, there was a lot of cars in GT4, but half of them were by Nissan, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi alone.

I feel the same way. I mean, I don't want them to get rid of any cars, but I've always been disappointed with the emphasis on Japanese cars and the de emphasis on American cars. I understand it's a Japanese made game, but that doesn't change the fact that I personally would like to see a lot more classic American muscle cars. Which is precisely why I wish they'd bring back the Plymouth GTX, for example, which was only in GT2.
