One of my absolute favourite games this gen was Test Drive Unlimited. I hate to think how many hours I've lost to this game but I still, even now, find it awesome.
So it's with great excitement and anticipation that I await TDU 2.
Some screenshots released yesterday and over the past week

Personally i think will suffer going multiplat.

Why would you think that? There have been plenty of great multiplatform games this gen.
I'm wondering how the co-op mode will work out where one person drives and the other 'reads the map' - I mean how will that be fun? (and if I'm co-op'ing with the wife it'll probably result in her being thrown out the virtual car window as she guides us into a river because she 'thought the blue lines were highways')

Look at Bioshock 1 when it was exclusive.....it was a bloody fantastic game to play and look at.
Went multiplat for no.2 and suffered big time.
Exclusives do better than multiplat games as they are purposely built to take advantage of either console.

but it wasnt exclusive because it chose to be, there was simply no other current gen console on the market to accommodate it, it was however on ps2/psp which pretty much proves it would have been on the ps3 if it were out and they had time to develop it.
ive not played bioshock on the ps3 but you can hardly judge it in that way

Except the 2nd game has the same resolution and perform the same as the first. So obviously you are not complaining about the technical aspect of it. That sorta renders your point moot.
I personally didn't like the sequel my self but I chalked it up to the different design team behind the game.
Irrational games lead the charge on the first. 2K marin on the second.

Playing devils advocate here but surely you would expect a game with 2 years extra development time to make better use of the hardware than the 1st. Uncharted 2 looks much better than U1, Gears 2 looks much better that Gears 1 so logic follows that if a game comes out 2 years later there should be an improvement, which there wasnt in Bioshock 2.

Not played them as they aint out yet, also im not saying TDU wont look better than the first one but it wont be as good if it stayed an exclusive. Compromises would of have to be taken to get it running the same on both platforms.
If Uncharted 3 went multiplat do you really think it wouldnt suffer being on 2 different consoles?

Yeah, I agree it would. However, Naughty Dog would be coming from creating a game that really pushed the hardware as opposed to these three games that were just barely tapping the potential of the 360. They would already have their hands full trying to squeeze more out of the Ps3. We wouldn't really won't know about the sacrifices made for these three games other than they could have been better.

Great looking screens. I didn't have to much play time with the first TDU but I did enjoy it, looking forward to TDU2.

where are these random comparisons coming from? as for the rest of your argument its pure assumption, why does a developer have to make a game look worse to ensure consistency on both consoles when they could make it better on the 1 that's suffering. youve come to a conclusion based solely off your assumptions and some very bad comparisons

Exactly. It's not going to suffer anything IMO. It's a game about freedom and fun with some nice visuals along the way. They're not adding meaty physics of Gears of War 2 or raytracing this or Animation blending in Uncharted 2. It's total overkill. This kind of game is perfect for multiple platforms. Should be a great game.
