Its just over a year behind the manga (roughly 70-ish chapters) but I suppose its 30-ish weeks behind if they had zero filler (considering they cover 2-3 chapters per episode).

In terms of progression, you're right. Anime isn't that far behind.

latest episode is out and compared to the manga which I enjoyed, I hated what they did with this in the anime.
wtf is wrong with the studio? seriously? O_O

-Dragging out of Mizukage scenes, completely ruined his character. Alot of that was filler.
The moments where he happily stood there and allowed the alliance to retrieve their weapons on those fodder ninja themselves acting so cheesy >_< bad representation of the alliance and mizukage.

In the manga, it had its comedy with the alliance missing the real one and moaning that they dont understand with the mizukage yelling at them, but the anime took this to the extreme XD so for me, the humour was killed and found myself shaking my head thinking "really?".

- Now this may be down to it being a while since reading this in the manga, but I remember the Mizukage enjoying the battle and wanting to test the alliance instead of constantly saying " I can't control myself, hurry". Especially when he used the water gun jutsu on Oonoki, I remember him saying something along the lines of "too bad", after pretty badass. This bullet point shouldn't be taken seriously though as it may just be me not remembering correctly.

- Music! I've had this issue for quite a few episodes now, they don't seem to be utilising the music much and instead opting for a lot of music-less fighting. The kage summit was a good example of music done right

- Naruto's planetary rasengan ruined completely. This is what it looked like in the manga:

instead of the filler with mizukage, I would have appreciated filler for gaara + oonoki vs Mu before Naruto arrives.


EDIT:

Looking at the manga for this episode, I realised the mistakes with the re-ordering they did with the anime.

Gaara left to help Oonoki before the nagato+itachi fight. And when Naruto arrives they've been fighting for a while. In the anime, restructure of the scenes makes it seem like Naruto joins the battle as Gaara joins in.

TBH, I'm glad I don't read the manga..lol.

I loved the Mizukagi scenes and I'm actually thnking of using him as my main in UNS3 now.

Also can't wait for Naruto to be a badass and show off in front of everyone next week !!

Thats the biggest problem with reading the manga, makes it harder to enjoy the anime

Glad you liked the mizukage. So many people nicknamed him trollkage.

This episode also hinted that he is related to suigetsu, when he used the hozuki clans water gun.
Also what did you think of Mu as he was getting sealed?
He was trying to say something

Yup, having no expectations for a scene and being blown away instead of nitpicking that it wasn't close enough to the manga or as good is the way to go

Yup, and t was pretty obvious we haven't seen the last of Mu..they took him down too easily. I want to see a Naruto/Gaara tag team.

XD for a moment I thought it was one of the bigger spoilers. If you find that interesting wait till you see whats in store for the story

Usually gaf marks spoilers but that one wasn't marked so I kinda spoiled it for myself. Although it was more of a wish than a spoiler for me

Also the planetary rasengan in the game looks awesome

( thought the filler with the 2 girls talking to temari was a time waste though, could have shown raikage laying waste to fodder in that time)

Just checked wiki episode listings which only goes to ep 303:

ghosts of the past

Which I cant tell if its filler or not as it can hold some relevance to story but its too vague for me. If you have the episode titles beyond 303 I'd like to know them

If its true then it sucks XD way too many fillers in naruto. I'd find it better if they took one piece approach and did 1 episode per manga chapter and fill the episodes with relevant filler: extending fight scenes etc.

Just read about the fillers on saiyan island. Mixed feelings on this..
First 3 weeks of march are sound 4 brought back through Edo tensei and the last week is a filler for the hyuga clan.
So the fillers sound great but its the timing of them which is sad XD
We were so damn close to one of the biggest wtf (in an epic way) moments ever in the story, lol.

So does that mean the movie animation team are here for just the filler eps? XD
