Fable III Dev Diary 2

I'm not. It looks like a Fable 2 expansion pack. I would compare it to Dragon Age or KOTOR, but according to Molyneux, it's not even an RPG anymore. It's practically permission to create the most shallow RPG experience in years. I wonder why he didn't think of it sooner?

Different strokes for different folks but as always, it's all good.

John Cleese, sharper visuals, better animation mechanic, 3D map...
Can't say I have lost any enthusiasm.
I prefer the Fable style of RPG games so maybe this is why I am still eager.

Sharper visuals - I didn't see anything significantly different in the video to what Fable 2 offered in the way of visuals.
Better animation - again, nothing in the video really demonstrates this.
3D map - is a menu interface
Not saying this won't be good but the video didn't really show anything exciting. At least not for me

Ok, I seen these differences, maybe I'm mistaken... I honestly did not think it was a re-hash of Fable 2 from what I saw in the 2nd dev diary.

Will the PC version support mods? The modders will fix everything wrong with the game when it comes out. Dragon Age is a great example of an excellent modding community. They took what was supposed to be a M-rated game and truly made it M-rated. They also fixed the character models, animtions, and are always adding new content.
Ahh, this is why I love the PC. Development never really stops and you have so much more control over the games you buy. Fable should have been a PC game from the beginning just like B&W.

^^ I've played mods used for the PC build of Just Cause 2 on the 360 build. Got to love JTAG consoles
Mods that work for developer kits work on these JTAG's...
Brings mods straight to the 360 to do exactly what you just mentioned. Straight porting of the files does the trick too, Google for more.

Well, I don't want to buy a new console just for modding.

Thanks for the Cover Art

Just like many of us don't want to update PC hardware every 6-12 months when consoles can play these games. Major reason we're console gamers.
Here's a vid as an example.

You don't have to upgrade every 6-12 months to play the games that also come out on consoles. That tech is almost five years old.

A reason many people generally prefer the PC is because it can output better visuals with far less jaggies and generally play games smoother...
To 'keep up' with that standard you need to.
To keep up with consoles, you do not, no! Why have a PC to keep up with console games though? Defeats the purpose.
At the end of the day it'll fall upon different strokes for different folks though.
Apologies for changing the subject from Fable 3 which I still feel is an obvious improvement from fable 2.

Like I was saying, to keep up with that standard.
Let's keep this on subject though please, I don't want to be the cause of this closing.

No, you do not. It is a myth of PC gaming that makes console gamers like yourself more comfortable, or so it seems. You've probably spent more money on $60 games than I've spent upgrading my PC every few years.
There are no 'standards' in the PC gaming world. It's whatever your rig can run that is the standard.
You generalize PC gamers and say they only play PC for better graphics. I certainly do not, I play PC because it's the best platform out there for my needs. It gives me the most control over the games that I have purchased and the games last longer since new content is always being designed by modding communities, and that content is free unlike Xbox Live or PSN.
I do get much higher framerates and much better graphics overall than consoles, sure. But if I only cared about that, I wouldn't bother with consoles at all.
The games are also $10 cheaper. Fable 3 will likely be no different and will be better on PC, with a lot more (free) content than you'll ever have access to on Xbox. Have fun paying $10 for an hour's worth of content, A7.

Can't wait until this game comes out. Not loving the fact that Project Natal will be incorporated into it though. And I did read somewhere that some items you have to pay for with your own money, which is messed up.
-

According to Molyneux, Fable III is being designed primarily for standard gaming pads. Natal is just a second option.
What's this about having to pay with your own money? I know DLC works this way, but are you saying we'll have to pay for swords and things like that with real money? Heh, that would be bad.

I read about that in a 360 magazine about 6 months ago, stated that some items can only be purchased with real money & others with in-game money, hopefully they have/will scrap that idea.
EDIT: Just googled it...
"Another important feature that will be in the game is the in-game micro-transaction stores. This feature will let players buy in-game items for real currency. One important point Molyneux made was that this in-game micro-transaction feature for the game might not be added to the final product and might be dropped before the release of the game."
