Best PS1 and PS2 Games for Retro Gaming Event?

I am involved in running a retro gaming event later this year, and am currently trying to figure out what the best games for the PS1 and PS2 will be to run.

I am looking for single player games, 2 player games and multitap games, and am looking for suggestions of unusual games as well the more common ones.

For example, One multitap game we will run on either the PS2 or XBox is Mashed Fully Loaded and also I am considering a Crash Bandicoot game.

Being an event they have got to be games that people can easily pick up and play without mass involvement, so RPGs and games like GTA are out of the question. Also games where you dont have to complete the game to unlock everything (unless I can find any save game data files for it) would be preferred. Mashed Fully Loaded is an exception as I have already played through it to unlock all the tracks.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

    Items Vita
For PS1 pick up and play, maybe - Ace Combat; Battle Arena Toshinden; Bushido Blade; Destruction Derby; Incredible Crisis; Jumping Flash; Off-World Interceptor Extreme; Omega Boost; Parappa the Rappa; Power Shovel ( or Dirt Jockey ); Rayman; Sheep; One Piece Mansion; Tekken ( any version ); Tobal No.1; Wipeout; Irritating Stick; Brain Dead 13

For PS2 pick up and play - GunGrave; God of War; Ico; Shadow of the Colossus; Katamari Damacy; Zone of the Enders 1/2; Black; Guilty Gear; ( if you have a Jap system - Initial D; Rez; Any Gundam 2 v 2 game )

Those are just from looking over at my collection, but they're fun, random ( in some cases quirky ) games.

Armored core for PS2, but you'd have to find a game save to have it become pick up and play. I'd suggest gamefaqs.

Einhander for PS1 would also be a fun one. Sidescrolling shooter that's fun from the start.
