Alan Wake Sales Keep Strong In UK, #1 In France and Netherlands
by Fernando on May 24th, 2010,
Second week of sales in the UK show a surprising strong performance for Remedy’s new comer Alan Wake. The title holds steady in the top 5 even after receiving a really weak marketing campaign compared to how Microsoft tends to treat their exclusives titles. Alan Wake is the #5 best selling games in the UK Individual Charts after debuting at #1 last week.

This is good news. I hope it's doing good here in NA. I want my Alan Wake 2!
It does look like one of those potential games that have "okay" sales in the beginning (because of the marketing, or lack thereof) but extremely strong legs (thanks to word of mouth).
If Alan Wake does well, I surmise that we will finally see a marketing push that Microsoft usually does for its heavy hitters come the sequel.

Really liking the game.
Not liking all the collectible achievements though

I'm glad all the negativity intended towards the title has not seriously affected the overall outcome.
I still think the game does some things better than many others and I'm glad gamers out there are enjoying the experience.

It's great to see it doing so well. A game like this deserves to be played, by far one of the better games this year so far.

My GOTY thus far.
I went into Alan Wake, not knowing what to expect, as in, is it going to be just an average game?, which is what most of me was thinking. So since I did not have high expectations, maybe it contributed to how much I loved playing this, but still..This game ****ing rocks.
From the scene where Alan and his wife arrive at Bright Falls on the ferry, my excitement for this game increased.
The setting, the story, the immersion, the atmosphere - EPIC! The way the game/story was set out, like a TV series, with cliff hangers at the end of each chapter, then music plays and the Alan Wake logo comes on screen. I LOVED IT!
This was one of very few games, that I actually played from start to finish. I couldn't put it down, I was so immersed in the story/setting.
It felt like I was watching an awesome TV series, just couldn't wait for the next episode, except I was also playing it.
Amazing game. My GOTY so far.
