PSP Go Is Getting Bundled With 10 Free Games Next Month

Anyone registering their handheld after April 1st 2010 will get ten free full-game downloads

Sony will shortly announce a brand new incentive scheme to encourage sales of the digital-only PSPgo, MCV can exclusively reveal.

The offer will entitle anyone who registered their PSPgo after April 1st 2010 to ten full game downloads. Titles in the deal include Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, 2010 FIFA World Cup and Grand Theft Auto.

The deal follows the announcement of a PSP Essentials budget software range that will see several triple-A titles available both on UMD and digitally for just £9.99.

“On PSPgo we’ve decided to innovate with that particular business model,” SCE UK sales director Mark Howsen told MCV. “Next month we’re launching a free ten game offer. And this isn’t just older titles – we’ve worked with third parties and there’s some really good core products.

“We’re using it as a method to drive the hardware as well by making the whole proposition much more appealing.

The new deal follows similar offers last year that included one free download for new PSPgo owners and a further three free downloads for anyone upgrading from an older PSP model.

MCV’s full interview with Mark Howsen will be appearing exclusively online later this week.

This sucks no price drop to encourage people to purchase this.

now if this was 150.00 plus 10 free games i would be interrested in importing the pspgo but because this isn't really worth it at the 250.00 price tag no thank you...

They should cut the 3000 to $130 and the go to $180.

But this is a good move.

I almost feel like it'd just be a better idea to drop the price of the Go.

As long as PSPgo and PSP 3000 are over priced I will not get one. Plain and Simple.

Price point for PSPgo should be 179.99 and PSP 3000 should be $129.99

You do that, they will fly like hot cakes but keeping these systems over priced as they are is plain ridiculous Sony.

    Strange innit?

You think they would understand this after the surge in sales PS3 got when it got its price cut last september.

Yep, it's their loss and let them suffer until they figure it out but it's not that hard.

They shouldn't be shocked why PSP sales are down, how long as the PSP been around? A Long time and they havent done any real price cuts.

That's not really true. Since the PSP launched in NA @ $249.99, it has since dropped to $169.99, or 42% decrease in price. I'd say that's pretty significant.

Right, my point being it was over priced so a price drop looks good when in fact it's not. Should never price a handheld at $249 to begin with, PSPgo should have showed them that. These handhelds have to start out being under $200 period. PSP3000 should really be $129.99, highest I would buy it at is $149.99 and PSPgo for me should be $179.99

im just curious, do u feel that the DS systems are overpriced as well? cuz they dont do HALF of what the psp or psp go do, and the 3 megapixel camera on the dsi is a joke. matter of fact, the dsi IS the same price of the psp 3000, yet psp does more...so which one in your mind is more overpriced?

The PSPGo price upon launch was definitely over priced in my opinion. However, I don't think that the original was at all.
