This happens with every launch!!!

When are people going to grow up.

Maybe eveyone is too young? Hey I'M out of high school and college.

I was buying the original Zelda when some of these Sony bashers were in their mother's wombs.

The ONLY reason people are attacking Sony IS THE 599 PRICE, which is for people WHO HAVE A HDMI TV.

IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE, buy the 499 one.

I know it's still more expensive than the 360

BUT IT IS'NT WORTH this much excessive BASHING SONY FOR.

I've never seen anthing like this before, the only thing they have to bash is the price.

but listen to 1up Up yours podcast
they reckon that MS paid to get WWE SVR 07 on 360 only
but then later went on to say the Sony will have a lot of PS3 only announcments at TGS
he then said that he bet/knows that

TGS, RE5, PS3 only

I believe myself that Sony will keep all its Big originally Playstation born games
RE,SH,ZOE,Onimusha, etc

i think he wrote "maybe that ps3" because, well, 4 million units worldwide isn't all that many. it's going to be sold out, and sold out for a long time. you'll be one of the few lucky ones if you have a ps3 by march. think about it, Japan, China, Korea, Australia, US, all over Europe, and who knows where else. What's the percentage of the populations that play video games? Certainly those numbers add up to be far more than 6 million units.

i can see PS3 costs in the 2000+ on ebay.

Also, its much more important for sony to have the hype in the fall. Its like a race, you don't wanna lead the first lap, you wanna lead the last one. E3 is the first lap, launch is the last one. Wouldn't you rather have hype at launch over E3.

What do you guys think about the chances of a PS Only conference about 2 weeks before launch o further hype the system....

More on topic...Sony is great at advertisements and it shows because even their adds get advertised and free publicity....remember "the PSP graffiti campaign" or the "white vs black", yeah great ads

I don't understand why Microsoft are even going to release a HDDVD add on. No one's going to by it, just like no-one bought the CD add on for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and the Atari Jaguar. Nintendo thought about releasing a CD add on for the SNES but didn't after no-one bought the Sega one. And these add-ons were for CDs that stored games, not movies, so they had a better chance of selling than on that's just for movies, but still no-one bought them. Add the fact that the 360 has no HDMI, but the PS3 is going to have the all new and improved HDMI 1.3. They'll be manufacturing all the BD movies on dual layer discs by the time folks have their PS3s, so then people will be able to see the true quality of BD encoding, which will totally annihilate HD DVD.

360 fans are in such denial, they can't realize the universal facts that add-ons suck, are ugly and are doomed to failure. Although the main reason I sold my 360 was because of such an uncomfortable controller, I can imagine the general public will start to sell their 360s when BDs hit the main stream. The 360s just the Dreamcast part 2. The simple truth is that the PS3 is the only true and direct next-gen console.

This TGS should be all about Sony because it needs to be.

So far E3 2006 is the worst recent memory for the Playstation division and they aren't planning to drag that reputation to the launch day.

Now that we all know how much the thing will cost, it might be eaiser to digest the reasons why we should pay that much for it and TGS is the perfect opportunity to do so.

On the other hand I still fail to be hyped about anything regading the Wii, I sadly still don't see anything appealing about the console and have the strange feelin that the Wiimote will get you tired of it quiet quickly after getting used to it.

As for Microsoft, it seems that there wont be many asians surprises in this TGS. We all expect the final revealing of the intriguing Blue Dragon and some more about Lost Oddysey. Something related to a Square Enix title is expectable as well.

People bash Sony for the simple reason that it's #1. All I ever see in bash posts are jealous people who know nothing about how micro$haft screws people over every chance they get and they were stupid enough to buy a 360 (which isnt even next Gen..its mid gen). I like to giggle at them as their precious xSux overheats and errors.

Otherwise, great post Reckless. It doesnt take a marketing genious to know that Sony held back a bit at E3. You have to build up hype closer to launch or else all the excitement goes stale. Expect some cool stuff from Sony.. oh and if sony can connect to the internet it already kicks the crap out of XBL.

And i dont recall ever.. EVER feeling/getting screwed by Sony. Heck, all my stuff is Sony (call me a fanboy, I dont care they make great electronics, cry about me liking them, it makes me giggle).

Also, dont think cause you dont have HDMI that you shouldnt get the $600 version.. go all the way if youre gonna go. People who bitch about price are lil kids who live at home and cant possibly gather their allowance and lunch money fast enough to save up for one. $600 is not that much for whats inside this machine, do some research before crying about price.

TGS is Sony's alone Nintnedo does not show up at TGS and Mircosoft will have next to nothing to show to. If it where anytime to show anything it would be now. E3 can be that "tragidy" it was Sony's still on top of the news. They could really show what the cheddar is for or not, time will tell, still TGS is for me becuase my fav games will be revealed!

with that released on 360
it will end SE's 2 game deal with MS

In fact not only is the prefect opportunity, it may be the only one. I truly belive this TGS will determine if Sony's launch would be successful or not. From the recent Famitsu polls I've seen, the Wii is still favored a bit. The Japanese are not only worried about the price point, but the lack of Japanese games. If the PS3 was to lunch with all the playable stuff at E3, it would be another x360 lunch in Japan. The Wii is popular in Japan atm, because they see Japanese games they might want to play atm. If sony can show all the Japanese games they have in development and possible some for lunch at TGS, Sony will put itself in a great position come November.

Haven't you guy noticed a patter? After every major game conference where Sony screws up fanboys just keep saying wait for the next one. Yea keep waiting while the rest of the world moves on.

There is no such thing as bad press. Sony taking "the high road" is a nice strategy imo. Especially when the rumors are extrememly rediculous {like only being able to play a game on one PS3 lol}.

I'm not sure about that. I mean Michael jackson had a hell of alot of press last year about being a pedophile, but it wasn't exactly good for him was it?

On the topic of this thread, i'd like to think that Sony have got something special lined up TGS, as i think they do need something special if they want to get some good press, but i don't think everyone should start getting too hyped about them having some big secret, as people might end up getting dissapointed.

I agree, I'm not expecting something major like a sudden price drop or "FFXIII coming Q1 2007". What I am expecting is Sony trying to show what they have in store for the Japanese and what the Japanese developers are doing. If not, they are shooting themselves in the foot. I think a lot of ppl don't give the Japanese market credit. We want to say,"who needs them", but they make a great deal of Sony's third party games and are responsible for given the PS family a diverse set of games.

Well heres what i've read and think.

Yes unfortunately The Xbox 1.5 (360) is in the lead. Im not saying it is better, then the PS3. I dont understand how Microsoft Fanboys can say "Hey Ps3 sucks and the 360 is better" its impossible b.c the PS3 has yet to come out. I see it as they are trying to build up enuff selfesteem to overcome the PS3's potential.

Also remember when the sega came out? Oh yeah it was greeeaaat... until *dun dun dun* a year later the first playstation was launch... and BOOM where'd the Sega go? Well lets see the Xbox 1.5 came out around christmas time? i dont remember but around that time in fall. Lets see... a year later... what coming? Oh yeah! The PS3!!! Could this be the end of the Suxbox 1.5? Just maybe...

And beside the point, I did wait in line for Xbox 1.5 at launch and i regret buying the piece o S***. Recently about a month ago i just got it to work right. It my 5th system and 2nd repair... you know i was supposed to get a replaced HDD 3 systems ago. but i was given console repair instead. You know why? B.c Microsoft had to hire a bunch of Dumb***es to do "Tech Support" B.c their launch was a failure. It was ridiculous, i could go on and on and on about all the S*** ive been through with this usless console... but i will save you 30 more min of your time.

A lot of the Japanese companies didnt reveal to much at E3 ie Capcom and Konami, im hoping to see more of Resident Evil 5 and Pro Evolution Soccer 6 in particular.

Being so close to launch i would expect Sony to make confirmation of things like, launch titles, exclusive titles, game prices and online strategy however to be honest im not going to think about it too much incase of disapointment!

Im positive it won't happen. For lots of reasons, one of them being that the game doesn't look like the '05 trailer. They already killed the game with that trailer, forget Halo 3. It's own PREVIEW killed it! Because thats what everyone will be comparing it to. I don't see Sony releasing a KZ2 vid anytime soon. If they did, the game would look nothing like the '05 vid and everyone would say it's another failure in the Killzone world.

It's a perfect example of why they need to do away with pre-rendered game trailers. It gets everyone's hopes up and then drops 'em. I can understand a teaser being CG and all, but when you show a preview thats clearly CG, and claim that it's gameplay and then proven wrong, you know it's time to stop.

If you want a *good* preview of what next-gen games will look like, just look at all the high-end current PC games. That will give you a taste, and will also let you know that games will look even better then those a few years from now. And above all else, you don't have to worry about CG previews.
