Despite some of the mediocre reviews this game seems to be doing well in the UK right now.

Because it's not a bad game... it's just not much different, if any, from the first game. The first game was kick ***, and so is this one.

It's a great game! I picked up his+hers copies on Friday, £80 well spent!
I was a big fan of the first game so was very familiar with pacific city already, but I don't share many of the concerns of the reviews I've read. Very underrated game. Yeah it's probably a 7 solo (although that still seems harsh) but if you play it like it's meant to be played, it doesn't disappoint.

I ended up not getting it this early. I'm hoping and expecting it to fall in price somewhat quickly. I really enjoyed the demo, but realised it was a bit too similar to justify buying it day one, and frankly i've not got the money at the moment. Also, reviews put me off a bit.

I love hearing about what games sell in the UK (I'm from there) because we seem to be a rapidly growing gaming culture. Almost everybody I know has had some experience with the consoles.

It has had an extreme amount of opening sales. Hopefully it can sustain them

To be honest, I hope it flops. It's not good to reward a developer for playing it safe and not pushing a game in any area and not addressing the issues of the first game 3 years later. Framerate issues, bad texture work, same formula. Let's hope this doesn't sell more than Alan Wake. Talk about sending the wrong message to developers. I get the feeling that this is one of those games that you'll be able to buy a load of used copies within the first few weeks of release.

I don't hope for games to flop, not going to start now. If people like something I'm not going to criticize. Devs can always do better but gamers buy games they like.

I get the feeling a lot of people think this game is downright trash.. it isn't. It's actually really fun.
It's just very same-y from what I'm hearing (which can't be bad considering I love it and never played Crackdown 1).

Let me put it this way. Crackdown 2 probably doesn't deserve to sell as well as Alan Wake. As for people buying what they like, I'm sure most expected more of an upgrade than this. Read the reviews from 1up, Ign, GameSpot, videogamer, gamepro....... All of them say this game is a letdown. It's almost more of a mod of the first with less feel for progression than the first game and in some areas, worse graphics.

Tha Fuck? I don't need no relationship with my tv, sick bastard. Why the hell should I pay you more money to use features I can get at the touch of a button on my remote? Oh, you want me to use these features with a camera and my voice instead? I'm not that damn lazy and I want to save some money FOR GAMES.

I need to be fair and say I have NOT played it. I might love it for all I know. But probably 90% of the reviews from reliable sites that I refer to and get a summary from overall (IGN, 1Up, Gamespot, Game Pro, VideoGamer, Games Radar, Game Informer, Eurogamer) have all said the same thing. This isn't getting slagged from fanboy sites. Pretty much everyone is saying the game is old, looks old, plays old.
Let me put it out here. What if Infamous 2 was released in the same city, looked the same, played the same, had no story, in some areas regressed. Should they get patted on the back and have users hope that it sells well? I just don't get it. I want people to reward games like Alan Wake who's developers are trying to improve on gaming and not just playing it safe and doing crap all nothing for 3 years.

The game has a fanbase, and regardless of the reviews will be a great game for a lot of people. Some people didn't play Crackdown 1, or didn't own it and only played it a few times. Then there are those who loved the first one, and will love the second one because of the "more of the same" vibe you get from the game. So for we've loved the game.
What's with all this "deserve" stuff people have been posting? Spain deserved to win, Crackdown doesn't deserve to sell... etc.?
Since when has "deserving" meant anything? It's the consumers who choose and dictate things here. It doesn't have anything to do with what deserves this, or that.
That term is getting more annoying than "full of win".
