No surprises there, they did the same with GT4. The standard models also were downscaled for the ps2, so what we are getting today is not the same ps2 cars, contrary to popular belief. And I'm sure that when GT comes to the ps4 and they use today's upgraded models, people will complain the same way they are doing now.

Funny the way the thread title contains a quote that nobody actually said at all.

That is probably the worst analogy, example or whatever you want to call it in the world. Do you know the money, engineering, materials, safety, testing, legal work etc etc considerations that go into getting a real car from blank paper to reality as a product? It absolutely dwarfs a computer game and is just incomparable.

Yup. according to Ewing from Ford, the Ford GT was essentially made in 10 months.
They were understaffed and under a definite time limit, too, for Ford's anniversary birthday. They didn't even have time to stress test parts normally, but everything worked out because of CAD. Then PD got access to the CAD file.
Sure, this may be an extreme example, but it just shows what can be done. However, according to PD, they usually spend more design time on a car than most manufacturers do on the real car.
