    PS3 NOT SHOWING PICTURE! <<<with video of problem>>>

    hey guys im new to psu.com but what ever so i got a ps3 thats not working.
    the system turns on and stays on but NO PICTURE and the controller lights flash untill you push the home button on the ps3 controller then they all stay solid (the number controller lights) the system responds and fan test works but no picture and no sound i already tried resetting the ps3 NOTHING help please i also took it apart nothing is melted or out of place

    Ok have you tried holding down the reset button to reset the screen resoultion to SDTV? could be set on a screen setting your tv is unavaliable to use.

    yes i have i said in the post and video that i have reset the ps3 and it has not fixed anything

    Put PS3 in standby mode...

    Hold Power button for 10 seconds-ish until it double beeps.

    That PS3 might be configured to work under different visual/audio settings. Turning off the PS3, then holding down the power button for 10-15 seconds might solve it.

    My cousin recently had a problem where nothing would show up but his ps3 would get the screen that would allow you to format the hard drive, ect. I installed the latest firmware and it worked just fine again.

    no i didnt buy it, it was given to me because my friend got a new one and gave up on this one i did however buy a ylod ps3 for 20 dollars wich i fixed for and worked for about 5 min then ylod again but im still having this problem with the ps3 in the video and i already tried the reset doesnt work

    More than likely it's toast. You mentioned in the video that the person who gave it too you said he dropped it. You've done the reset for the video reset, it's not working. It cost you nothing, toss it and move on.

    Or you could save up 150$ and send it in for repairs. They'll fix it for you, and then you got a working unit to use as a backup.
