Nintendo's gameprices revealed???
Link: http://news.punchjump.com/article.php?id=1002
Video game retailer GameStop has listed several Nintendo Revolution software titles to its online store with a retail price of $59.99.
Games currently listed include Mario Revolution, Super Smash Bros. Revolution, Zelda Revolution, and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Revolution.
The $60 price tag follows the footsteps of rival Microsoft's Xbox 360 games, all of which have been set at $59.99.
Current video games retail for $39.99 - $49.99.
Nintendo has not confirmed the retail pricing of the Revolution or games, but the system is expected to cost less than Xbox 360 and Sony's Playstation 3.
The jump in video game prices are a result of high development costs for new video game hardware and software. Next-generation video game systems like Revolution, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3, will incorporte state-of-the-art processors and graphics chips to create stunning graphics.
Video game projects are now multi-million dollar investments that require scripts, storyboards, and music composition, similar to the Hollywood feature film.
While Nintendo could adopt lower pricing to Revolution games, it may want to stay at level competition with Sony and Microsoft in order to maintain a larger profit and not undervalue Revolution titles.
Nintendo is expected to reveal more about Revolution before the end of 2005.

I hope those arnt actually the names of the games, cause it would be so ghey if they port everything from the old systems and slap "revolution" on behind it....

I doubt those are the names. It just sounds so cheesy. Mario Revolution? Sounds lame to me

"Super Mario World" "Mario 64"
If you don't think those will be the names then you may not want to look at the titles when they come out as it is likely they will re-adopt this technique. It is a good advertising technique as you will hear the word "Revolution" on so many commercials and see it in your local gaming store so much that it gets stuck in your head and eventually it will have you buying the console.

maybe we could just wait till the price goes down or maybe people will sign a petition or something, because i agree with you that 60$ is way to much, i even think 50$ is too much so i usually just wait till the holidays or my birthday and have my parents buy me a bunch of games and they last a few months
but usually they come out with something better by then, there just seems no way to beat these high gaming prices, the one thing i do is wait till the games get on the greatest hits list for like the ps2 and just pay 20$
but i thought the name revolution was just a codename and that the real name so far was undecided, so maybe they won't just stick the name revolution on the games but IMO the mario series has gotten old.

Right but at 60.00 for new games, the greatest hits will be 30.00!
I really hope the consumers balk at these prices, and they are forced to lower costs. Or I will end up just getting 2 games instead of 4 at launch.
That will hurt there COnsole to Software ratio they keep bragging about with XBOX now.

Also I see Sony staying at 49.99 if they do that and 360 is 10.00 more they could sell alot more PS3's even though its only 10.00 more.DORFDAD

06-23-2005 #8Either Sony will change their prices to $59.99 (which i think they will) or the Xbox 360 and Revolution games will drop to $49.99 to compete with the Playstation 3 games. Either way, the price of games next gen will be equal for all systems.

IF XBOX COST... 300 and ps2 cost 350 I dont care iam getting a xbox iam not a xbox fanboy I have been a ps3 fanboy.....

Many of the N64 games cost $59.99 back in the day.

Doesn't mean anything....any Game seller could stick a price on any new merchandise. I mean for instance, they had all PSP games listed about 50$, but when they came out some of the PSP games were not 50. For instance, Twisted Metal Head On was announced, EBgames had it up for 50$...when it came out, it was 40$.

Nintendo new system is going to be way cheaper then the other two so the game should be 50 or less. and N64 itself I don't like at all. that why I stay with $ony.

07-02-2005 #14Super Nintendo games got up there. I remember paying around $65 for FF3 when it came out. Comeon now, people, the systems arent even out yet and we're getting up in arms about software prices?

[LIVE]Mario Franchise Bought by Sony
Just recently Nintendo has been thought to be making a pretty good profit off the Nintendo Wii but all seems to be going wrong with Nintendo. Their loses are growing due to constant research and development to find out how to make a full body sensor unit.
In order to lessen the blow that the experimental suit Nintendo decided to sell off their biggest franchise. That franchise is Super Mario. The asking price was 1.5 billion dollars.
Bill Gates commented on the sale of Mario, "Its a tempting offer but Mario is childish."
Sony quickly went to Nintendo buy the franchise. Super Mario Galaxy will be renamed to Galactic Assault Mario and Mario will be finally put in an adult role, no more hopping around, Mario's primary weapon will be a flame thrower.
The game is expected to hit never and PSU would like to say.
