Where are all the Xbox 360 exclusives?

yeh well written and a good article. time will tell if ms has lost it, or if they are just controlling the flow of info to the customer and media.

That was long read haha, well yeh Sony are starting to get a good lot of exsclusives out, and I like exclusive games cus they optimised for the system they are on

It'll be interesting to see what they are hiding for 2011. Gears 3 and the Crytek game. I guess its release date will depend on Crysis 2 being pushed back. I believe during E3, Crysis 2 was still set to be released this year. Hopefully MS won't rush(crackdown 2) any titles next year.

The lack of exclusives for 2009 hurt MS. They sold a million less consoles than in 2008.

The holidays will show if MS has a grip on the responsibility of marketing Halo:Reach, COD:BO(exclusive ads) & Fable 3(Hardecore titles) along with Kinect(Casual titles). That's a lot to deal with.

If the reviews are anything to go by Reach should hold the fort for MS until their next big release but MS needs to be getting new fresh IP's out the front door. Multiplats don't show off the 360's capabilities (graphically). I seriously thought Reach would've done the job or atleast reached the same fidelity as Crysis 2 and Rage but hey lets hope 343 Industries can step up to the plate in that department.

It does seem like Microsoft is putting all their eggs into the Kinect basket. We hardly know of any exclusives to be released in 2011. Though in the past they have decided to focus on games released in any given year instead of showcasing titles to be released in the year ahead. Hopefully this turns out to be the case, as if Microsoft shifts the 360 into a casual focused console that will displease many of the hardcore.

360 exclusives have been rather .. non existant for me since 2008 or so (Or was Halo Wars in 2009?)

From Alan Wake - Gears 3, I have no exclusives. Thats pretty damn sad, especially when I only really get exclusives for my 360. Thats like a year or so.

I plan to buy and have bought more games on 360 than any other system, so what does it matter if 360 does not have many exclusives, it has a good number and many PC/360 games and many timed exlcusives too or whole series that are not whole in other systems

This year alone i have bought Mass Effect 2, Limbo, Splinter Cell, Alan Wake and will buy Halo REach, Fable 3, Gothic 4, Two Worlds 2 etc, so why would it matter to me ? Only 360 covers my gaming needs in 2010, and that is what i care about

The answer to the question is: They are in development.

However, we don't know where they'll be coming from (largely) or whether they'll be any good.

The case is strong that suggests Microsoft is betting the house on Kinect, with the company hoping it can hinge on the hardware's success and generate an entirely new market for the console.

It sure seems like it.

Sure MS is betting on kinect to expand its customer base and why wouldnt they, that changes nothing though to core gaming that is still as strong as it ever was, with far more games than i could handle in 2010 and even more in 2011

Very true. With the exception of Forza 3 this past year we saw some pretty mediocre exclusives on the 360 imo.

Than other systems, so you own a ps3 now. Congrats man you should check out some of the old exclusives this year i think the only exclusive I bought was MAG, and demon souls, but I'm waiting for GT5

i own both, and yeah, the ps3 has many more games that i like than the 360, but the 360 is still doing fine, I just beat ME1(good game but very short for an RPG, took me under 15 hours with some sidequesting) and have started on ME2, so far I actually like ME1 better, hate managing ammo, but no god-awful inventory or vehicles is nice

I wish Microsoft would put more effort or take risk on developing more exclusives, seriously I was about to buy a 360 so I can play Bungies farewell masterpiece ( this coming from someone who never played a halo story). And as I was in the 360 game section I looked around at the games

And I even messed around with the 360 kiosk and went to the highlights that had a section called exclusives. I'm here thinking this is were I'm going to get schooled on the 360 hidden gems. And seriously 4 games were listed Forza, Gears, Halo, and Fable.

And the games in the section were a bunch of games that I can play on my ps3 but choose not too because I don't really care for the vast majority of multiplats, I don't have a problem with the 360 I think they can all coexist and it keeps Sony on it's toes. But I just wish that they'd step it up on the exclusive sides.

I will eventually pick up a 360, I'm thinking of maybe the halo editition but at the moment that money is going towards move controllers, move games and exclusives

I loved Demon Souls, it is the one PS3 game i would buy a PS3 for ( i bought my PS3 for FF13 back then when i though would be a good game and PS3 only), since i mainly play WRPGs and this is the closest to a WRPG my PS3 gets so far (WRPGs is the reason i like 360 more than anything as well)

I am not interested in MAG, GT5 etc, i rarely buy shooters (or racers) and dont play them much, only Halo for the co-op gameplay and Gears for the art style/monsters

Funny you say that. I looked for that game in Tesco's when I was there the other day. I was going to pick it up. They didn't have it and I didn't have time to wander down to Game.

So expect to see a ton of exclusives but none that any of us 'real' gamers would ever be seen dead playing. I really think that they are taking their eye off the hardcore gamer. I dont see anything like that myself, i only see one of the most hardcore years of 360 in 2010

Of course they care to sell Kinect, that has little impact in the core games360 gets though

Sorry, but after 5 years of beeing constatly 100% satisfied with 360 core games every single year, i doubt anything like that would happen, in fact i am already planning to buy more than 30 !!!! games on 360 in 2011

I am a realist too, cant get better than already planning to buy 30 games, double than 2010

Some may slip to 2012, but even if 15 of them come, will still be as good as 2010 (in number at least, since there are no RPGs)
