RPG + Trick-or-treating = Costume Quest!!

Check it out folks.. here's some intense trick-or-treating! I've unexpectedly enjoined the game so far.

Description:

Costume Quest is a adventure role-playing video game developed by Double Fine and published by THQ. In the game, the player controls a child that is trick-or-treating with his or her younger sibling on Halloween night when they encounter a monster that kidnaps the sibling, thinking the candy-corn outfit is really candy. The player must travel around the local neighborhood collecting items for their costume, fellows children as companions and candy in order to face the monster and retrieve the sibling. The costume aspects are used in battle segments, where the player character and companions are transformed into the monsters and creatures they are dressed as to fight other monsters. The game is a downloadable title and was released on October 20, 2010 on the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network services.

It's incredibly fun lol. I was quite surprised at the joy I felt in playing the game lol.

Have to agree it's such a nice game. Makes you feel all warm and cozy inside lol. I'm only like 2 hours in but it's great

I really liked the demo, but I'm worried about the short length of the game. However, the reception from this forum has been 100% positive. I think I may have to take the plunge soon...

Going by "my system" 6 hours is good. (I go $2.50 per hour, at least - is a good deal. (I pay $5-$10 for movies, and those are 2 hours long. xD)

IGN review said it "Seemed short" so I had to ask. lol

I liked the demo too but I would've liked a full-blown game instead. RPGs just don't work when they're 5-6 hours long.

In this game, the character development is a lot more rapid than a 60+ hour true RPG. It fits really well with the story and pace of the game.

Oh yea definitely, the game seemed pretty good as far as characters. I liked them from the beginning. I guess I don't want good things to end quickly.

But a full-blown game that's only Halloween-based wouldn't work either.

Just like a lot of my videos Lethal, I usually make my own threads of the game play, impressions, etc. This one isn't any different. If you had asked me to record some game play for your thread, I would have done so, and probably not created this thread... like the Fat Princess one. 'Member?

Anyways, I've had a blast with this game... my kids will take a little longer than 7 hours to get through this though.

I don't put price on a time. A longer game doesn't make it better just because it's longer. If a game is short but the experience is immense I'll take it pve 60 hours of boredom but that's just me

I saw there was a Halloween deal for this game and it's expansion for only $7.00, so I decided to finally get it.

I must say, this is a little gem. The writing is very witty and funny, there's a good sense of atmosphere due to the music and art-style, and it's fun to explore.

It's the perfect game to play around Halloween, but even though it's over, I still recommend everyone to at least give the demo a try. The main game along with the expansion will probably only take you 7 or 8 hours, but it's worth it.

I think it would be great if Double Fine released a new expansion every Halloween. It doesn't have to be any bigger than Grubbins On Ice. This is just the perfect game to play during Halloween. It would be a great tradition.
