Wow that is impressive numbers. What shocks me more is that people are still buying the PS2, that console will never die!

He doesn't have the numbers then? Doesn't take much to subscribe to their data.

Major Nelson tweeted the numbers today...
Xbox 360 sold 1.26 million units in November, maintaining the number-one console spot in the U.S. for the 23rd consecutive month.

dats a lot! Of course it's the #1 in NPD... I bet we don't see 'em tweet JPN numbers lmfao. I know, not topic worthy, but I still thought it was a funny notation.

That's a huge number but the bundle deals were hard to resist for many, as lets face it, they were great deals (Black Friday).

No thank you. I'll be gaming on a stronger console for $100 cheaper instead
Sony trolled MS. PS4 fans didn't do it. We just laughed at MS and anyone getting mad. $399 FTW!

02-02-2013 #670Xbox 360 life-to-date sales hit 75.9 million
Xbox Live members pass the 40 million mark
Microsoft has sold a total of around 75.9 million Xbox 360 consoles globally.
That's according to the latest figures released by the platform holder in a summary of its FY13 Q2 earnings results. It also claims in excess of 40 million Xbox Live users, although it doesn't break down how many of these are free Silver users and paying Gold subscribers.
According to a recent report, PS3 shipments hit 77 million units in December 2012 versus Xbox 360's 76 million. But those figures related to console units shipped to retail and not those purchased by consumers; actual PS3 sales reached 70 million units in November 2012, according to Sony, roughly one month after Microsoft reported the same Xbox 360 sales total.
According to recent data supplied to CVG by GFK Chart-Track, lifetime Xbox 360 sales look certain to overtake those of current-gen leader Nintendo Wii in the UK, having outsold its rival by more than 4:1 in 2012, and tailing by just 200,000 sales by the end of December.

So so, without up-to-date numbers for both (you cant use numbers from now for one and numbers from 3 month's ago for the other)
It is hard to tell, but I'm gonna say 360 is leading until something concrete comes out for both, but PS3 is up its arse
But I wouldn't be surprise if PS3 is ahead by a bit, Sony seems happy about something
edit Sony released numbers recently saying they shipped 6.6 mill as of dec 31 so with those numbers released by MS it does appear like they are very close
Still wait for official numbers which I'm sure Sony will reveal on the 20th, which I'm sure they will do the whole numbers stuff as alwaysLast edited by TGO; 02-08-2013 at 03:33.

Christ, you guys are making this way more difficult than it need be.
MS shipped 5.9 million.
Sony shipped, 6.6 million inclusive of PS2's
These numbers cover oct 1st to dec 31st.
The gap was already greater than 900k, regardless if even Sony shipped not even one PS2.
If Sony shipped more than 900k in PS2, then the gap actually widened.
