It has taken decades to upgrade the quality of television signal in at least the states, we are a ways away from another round of upgrades; focus on the games and making true 1080, well designed 10 hour + games.

I just want a game that has AI of ANY real decency, so far every time I get a game I hear has great AI it's always been absolutely horrid
if I am in the PS3 or 360 section I will NOT post about the competitor just to please people, if you want to know what I think about the competitor link me to a thread in the appropriate section

You ever play Star Wars Republic Commando on the original XBox? That game had some of the best team AI I've ever seen. The enemy AI wasn't bad either.
As for AI in general though, yeah; it needs to take a further step at some point. Computer opponents are fairly easy to predict and they always follow repetitive patterns. Duck, slide to cover, and blind fire. You don't see AI do dramatic or intelligent stunts that a Human player would do to better their situation. I realize that AI is a difficult thing to program, but I feel our technology is reaching the point that we can make an AI system where it can actually detect and understand the basic layout of the level. Not just follow an invisible path on the ground.-No Feeble Cheering-

1080p + stereo 3D does take enough power to do properly, there is no need to go for 2160p or bigger resolutions.

GT5 isn't out yet so the pixel counters can't tell - but GT5P was running at a resolution of 1280x1080 (full 1080p is 1920x1080) in-game which is about 66% of the way towards a full 1080p image with 2xAA.
WKC was native 720p I thought.
Just shows that 1080p is too much for this gen, especially when probably around 99% of game sales are titles with sub-1080p resolutions.

I doubt 1080p 3d @ 60fps will even be standard next gen.

Yeah expect 1080p to be done very well next generation. Looking at even low-mid range PC GPU's of today and they have no trouble achieving these resolutions.. Give it a few more years and 1080p will look absolutely amazing.

So a 4k resolution and ultraHD is the same thing right? I don't know, it seems like by nature the hardware should be able to output 4k so it might support it but I doubt they will actually use it.
Other opinions are available.

This is a bad thing for the market if you ask me. Some consumers are just now starting to get HDTVs because the price of these tvs are starting to get in a very good price range. But I think with the inclusion of 3d in the market, All companies should hold off a little on Ultra HD. I know it is better than the current, but most things don't even output in standard 1080p except for movies. Probably need to let everything start catching up before moving into this head on. Just my opinion.

Really? Assuming the next-generation systems are not Wii-fied, they'll chew through the 1080p, 3D capable, 30-FPS standard without any problem. It will be next to no obstacle for the future hardware. My late-2008, 160$ GPU can do this stuff already. Don't be surprised if even 60FPS is the standard next-generation. (though it may fall to 30FPS with 3D enabled)

Considering many developers are having trouble getting there games to run at 720p (let alone 1080p) theres no chance of this happening and also no point.

Wii-fied

Seriously though. Devs will always push graphic effects to the edge and framerates and resolution (not so much resolution because TV was always been SD) will always take hits.
This has been the case since the beginning with consoles and will most likely always remain a problem. Just the nature of the beast.

That's a good point, but imagine if this generation we never went to a high resolution. We remained at 480p. Do you think that any game would run less than a stable 30FPS 99% of the time? Unless the game just had trashy developers, I'd say no.
Developers are going for a quality experience, and when they have so much hardware under their fingertips, I can see them going for a standard 30FPS, 1080p, 3D, etc all around. Trashy developers not included of course. I don't see the next-generation being anything less, and if it is, I'll be very disappointed.

you have the final game and done a pixel analysis on it??...
not positive...some of the biggest games this generation can't even hit HD resolutions....all of the CoD games...all of the Halo games...none of them even nailed 1280x720 @60fps....then the games that take a step up in overall detail...Uncharted, Killzone...they reach 720p but sacrifice 60fps for 30...
to think that the next consoles will "easily" bang out 1080p 30fps games is shaky IMO...
