Ok so I suggested a Portfolio section and some thought it wasnt essential and I agree but I thought I'd make this thread for people who like to show off there recent Graphics work..

My first banner. You're wondering why there's a Batman logo in there, right? Well, it's also part of a little graphic novel I'm working on where Batman has a conflict of interest because Bruce Wayne wants a new batsuit, and Tony Stark refuses to supply him with the needed materials. It tie's in with the Dark Knight movie right after Bruce asks Fox for a new, more flexible suit.

Now, for two wallpapers I did that is a tribute to hollywood crushes

I'm liking this version more, but whaddaya guys like more?

All these are done in the wonderful program called Photoshop. You hate it at first when you know nothing, but once you start playing around with it, you fall in love.

Version A - you need to stroke the borders with inside or center because stroking outside creates the unprofessional looking rounded edge at the corners of the stroked layer.

Version B - This is pretty good but why is the middle frame slightly bigger than the other two? it is a bit consistent looking even though you might have gone to make the middle frame a bit more distinctive.

Also, control the drop down shadow/outer glow effect, too much shadow underneath can destroy the depth effect.

Just some criticising, sorry if i come off as a bit harsh! :P

You didn't come off harsh, just brutally honest lol. I'm a PS beginner/amateur. Someone else said it was ok because it didn't require much work, but that's how I like to do it, with less work and effects that make it look like hours have been spent. Loving the gradient tool a lot now, as well as the vibrance one.

Well, don't... lol. I think you're going overboard with the gradient tool. The same can be said for the text effects in your banner. It just makes it look tacky and unprofessional. Some really good advice Formula gave me back in the day was to always check out tutorials. Don't be afraid to put more effort into your work. There's a lot of cool stuff out there to learn.

Just posting to show off my current sig. First 'proper' sig I've made (even though I've barely done anything to it ) in about 5-6 months, and I really like it tbh. That and the userbar.

The left portion of the signature feels a little empty (nice place for a text layer or two), but it still looks good, man.

But I would keep the text simple. Your designs are great but sometimes you go a little overboard with the text layers.

As Blacksite said, the text is ruining the sig imo. To be honest, that sig doesn't even need text, just make it simple, go through a whole bunch of fonts until you find something that fits, and if nothing fits, then there's no need for text .

Other than that, it's a good sig .

Yeah it kinda draws the eyes away from the focal which is not the goal, The goal is to get the eyes to be on the focal! Il play around a bit more with it later. Thanks Arkano.

Yeah thats pretty damn good, sorry that you couldn't enter it in the SOTW but the rules are rules :/

I suggest moving the text lower, because text in corners usually ruins it. Also try changing the colour of the text to something that fits the colour scheme. Don't worry with text though, thats one of the hardest parts in sig making. Guess why my sigs never have text

I like to think I've got text underwraps now. Of course it can always be better, but I'm confident in my 'text' ability.
