PSP sales rocket at a mindboggling 62 000% BEFORE black friday

sorry if it's already been posted, I couldn't find an existing thread

Who says the PSP is dead? Demand for the handheld has grown exponentially since a temporary price cut on the system, with sales reaching an unprecedented high. As the Black Friday madness starts to kick in, Sony’s handheld has toppled the Wii, PS3 and 360 for the sales crown.
Amazon.com, the world’s largest online retailer, listed the PSP 3000 for a mere $129.99, with a copy of LittleBigPlanet, The Karate Kid movie, and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo and a $15 gift card earlier today, causing the PSP to almost immediately sell out as word spread of the fantastic deal.

With such an increase in demand, sales sky-rocketed 62,200% causing the bundle to go from a sales ranking of 1,246 to a lofty second place.
The great deal isn’t just an Amazon exclusive, Sony announced on the PlayStation Blog that the $129.99 bundle would be available at all major retailers over the Black Friday period, meaning that the sales increase is likely to be mirrored all across the United States. Amazon are currently sold out of the PSP pack (we’ll be sure to update you if it comes back in stock), but Best Buy are still offering the bundle online.
The PSP isn’t the only set to see a sales boost as Amazon has some unmissable Black Friday deals for the PlayStation 3, with a 160GB Family Bundle with Singstar Dance and Ratchet and Clank costing only $299.99, and a 160GB Black Friday Bundle featuring Uncharted 2 GOTY edition, Pixeljunk Shooter and The Karate Kid Blu-ray for as little as $299.
Stay tuned to PlayStation LifeStyle as we cover all the best Black Friday deals as they happen, and make sure to bookmark Amazon’s Black Friday Deals page to beat the millions of other shoppers in securing the hottest deal.

So the selling price point for a PSP is, $129.99

Hopefully, Sony will keep it at that price after, Black Friday. If the PSPGo had an attractive price point, it would of done just as favorable.

Damn, that's a comeback! Although I don't play my PSP as much, the machine's a beast, and I've had a blast with it. Can't understand why so many people say it's a failure with such great software and such great total sales.

Yeah it really needs to stay at $130. Isnt it $170 or something usually? A bit pricey for a 6 year old handheld really.

Yea I bought 2 for both my little cousins at my local gamestop I was the first one to by them. My local gamestop looked as if they only had about 30 of them though.

I won't be upgrading my PSP 1000 until they announce the PSP2, so I can get a 3000 for peanuts
During E3 I check out the booth babes, and if that's wrong...then maybe I'm missing the point of E3

It seems like people generally see the PSP as a cool device that just isn't quite worth the price. I love it as a media device and I've really warmed up to it as a gaming device, but most rational people who are in the market for a media device will buy an Ipod Touch instead. The PSP really just needs a lower base price...although at this point I guess it may be too late.

    Ahhh.

The only thing really holding the PSP back is the over priced memory cards. If SONY could work out a deal where you get a game and a memory card or something gamers would happily pay.

PSP Go was such a stinker. Hopefully PSP2 would be better.

Thats true. I still might buy one since they come with 10 download games. I'd just use it for a portable PS1 player. I'd prefer it to be hacked too xD.
