I feel like there's a lot going on lots of quests, do I just take it quest by quest?

Remember save often and do not die or you will go all the way back to the last save you made... This is the most important advice to give out and take it as gospel
Yes quest by quest, do not do too much at once or you will get confused and die to easy and lose important items for finishing quests...

So I was playing around earlier, running around the country-side and finding locations and exploring them, not really caring about quests at the moment.
I came across Swindler's Den, first time I've been to it this playthrough and after I completed "In My Time of Need". So I battle through all the bandits and I come to the water area where the Alik'r Warriors would be in that quest. This is what I find up there...

Those guys laying down (including the Bandit Chief and the headless Warrior) are swaying around as they would be if they were alive, as well as being in the standing stance. There was another Warrior in the water down below. I could pickpocket the three living ones (including Kematu) but couldn't start dialogue with them even with the 'X Talk' graphic. The ones laying down I could search and attack without issue from the living Warriors.
Here's the picture I took of Kematu and the quest as completed.

Does this happen for anyone else? I've since been there again (after a wait period so enemies would respawn) but only the two live Warriors and Kematu were there, the 'alive but dead' characters were now gone.
Just glad this doesn't have any effect on the quests or inventory. So far I've escaped three different quest bugs and inventory bugs. I've gotten used to saving before I pick up any item that seems like it's important and avoiding all books (I've been burned on the College Library book quest too many times(.

Man for every time i have come across something like this makes me scream with annoying voice...
There were times i got a quest and the game knew i was on the right path and it took me to a different place and i fought the wrong people and yet i completed the quest and there were times were i have done the quest all the way down to the last thing and the game does not pick it up and it is left in my quest menu and will never go away
There is times i go too an area for a quest and the people i am meant to kill or talk to are already dead or no trace of them can be found at all... This makes the quest null and void and you can not even complete the quest
Even when you are not on quests and just exploring you will come across future quest items, people and creatures and when you activate set quest you can not do it becausez you have already interacted with the people or items or creatures needed for the quest and the game marks it as if it is not completed
The worse is when you have to get certain items for people and the item is either in the place it is meant to be and it is unreachable or is not their and yet the map marks it as if it is... And the same for people you have to talk to or kill, they are marked in the place they are meant to be and they are not...
So it leaves the quested unfinished and go to say WHITERUN and you bump into the people you were meant to kill or talk too. And even if you do the quest as it is meant to be done... The game still thinks the game is unfinished and that is so annoying
it is cool. Go to youtube and check out the hidden chests of SKYRIM and you will be fine

This is what has happened many times. The Bard's College items I typically come across and I've gotten to the point where I just immediately exit the chest and leave the area. It's also why I never take any books. Skill books I read and then leave them be.
The most recent issue I had was finding the Fine-Cut Void Salts. When I saw them I immediately exited the chest and saved. Then to test I picked them up and it informed me I needed to return them to someone. I went to the location, spoke to the guy and was given the task to find them and then return them to him. Well, I had two active quest lists, one to find them and another to return them. I could no longer talk to the guy so my earlier assumption that it would glitch was correct, so I loaded up the save and this time didn't pick them up.
I've also been noticing that I'll go up to a Word Wall and have the spirit trails leave the wall and go into me but I'm never notified of a learned shout. Same with dragon souls. I will have the new word or soul, just it never tells me (this isn't like when you have the spirit trails that continually fly into you but nothing ever happens).
How the developers don't think of the possibility of a player picking up an object before they come across a quest telling them to do so just baffles my mind. For how good the game is with the bugs, I'd love to see how great it could be if from the start, they were all fixed. I'm tempted with the next one to simply wait a couple months and only get it on PC, but download the unofficial patch before I play.

The whole game just like OBLIVION is littered with either unfinished quests or quested that do not knowledge you have done them, also some items have the habit of not being able to pick up
When i down even the first quest of escaping the dragon, the game seems to think i was still in selection stage of which race i wanted to be and that stuck me in a still motion for at least 5 minutes. The reason i never resarted is because i do not want to go though all the intro again and again... So i left it
I see that it is us the gamer that has to find ways around these problem and the creators did not even bother fixing... The times i have had to play the game in a state of what i have to do next and why have the creators not fixed this...
There was one time i was riding around on a horse and it got stuck in a stance and in a invisible wall, so i got of and tried to get it out of this problem.. I tried killing it and if that did not work i tried to get a guard to do by hitting the guard and getting him chase me... And when that did not work i tried magic...
But what actually got the horse free and you will not believe this, all it took for me to talk to the KHAJIIT waiting outside the city and ask them for lock-picks and when i came out of the conversation, my horse was freed from the invisible wall... So you see you have to think about how to get the problem solved before the creators make patches for the issue'sLast edited by claud3; 03-20-2013 at 00:50.

Sounds rough, I've yet to have anything that bad. It's usually just the items stuck in inventory or inability to continue with the correct speech dialogue, resulting in a stuck quest.
I don't remember too many issues with Oblivion, though I picked it up well after release.
You got me thinking though about that game and I realized I really only play as regular humans. Nords, Bretons, Imperials and Redguards. I think I've been a Dunmer once in Oblivion for a short while. Anyways, so I started up a new character with an Orc so I can hopefully get away from my stealth characters.
I wanted to be an elf of some sort for magic, but from what I've seen on past builds it's the worst fighting style in Skyrim. I don't get why magic damage doesn't go up as your skill goes up. I'm pretty sure the other skills affect damage without having to select perks (though I could be wrong there).

well be aware of it and be sure to save as much as possible just in case... You do not want to go through a lot and have to go through it again friend
Man go here and learn all the skills each race has and you will get what you need

they are brilliant... But for me it is the IMPERIALS, and the reason why is that they are quick and lucky when it comes to finding GOLD COINS

Ok here is one for all here, what race to you prefer to play as the most and rate them
For me it is the IMPERIALS and i rate them 10/10Last edited by claud3; 03-20-2013 at 23:55.

My go to race is Nord, but its because I usually prefer to be a straight up Nord warrior.
For my stealth/magic guy was a dark elf that always wore the krosis mask./UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\

All about Imperils. Get me that gold haha. Sometimes Redguard. I plan to make a Nord warrior soon.

If the appeal for gold is the main reason to chose Imperial, I'll pass. My current Nord God has well over 150k gold.
I've invested in most every business I've found, the guards are all in my pocket, no bounty can't be paid without worry, and my wife carries around 25k just in case I run out./UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\

And I own every buyable house in skyrim. Each is stocked with armors, weapons and anything else I might need if I am passing by.

Just saying, its so easy to make gold that it eventually becomes useless as I have everything I require, and if I don't have it, I can make it, being a master alchemist, enchanter, and smith.
Do you guys use fast travel ever?/UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\

I agree the money is pointless after you have everything onto fast travel, Nope i never use it at any point and i never did in OBLIVION or the other elders games...
I see it more rewarding to explore

Gives more meaning to having a horse. And makes it interesting when two bears and a legendary dragon shows up to fuck stuff up. I have a stronghold in the middle of the map that has free horses and lots of recruits to hire.
