Same here. We're doing a _controlled_ exchange with the Wife's folks, and her brothers (and their wives). We REALLY tried to reinforce something unique/fun/special - i.e, NO gift certs, or things like games, movies, etc.
Like for instance, our one SIL loves Cougar Town, so the woman got her this huge wine glass with Big Joe custom inscribed, a bottle of wine and put together a penny can game. Awesome.
We're not doing anything between us. I mean, not to pound my chest or anything, but at this stage in our lives, if we want something we buy it (like I just picked her up a new iphone and will probably order a MBP very soon, not Christmas related...).
We were playing this game where we were trying to remember the previous two Xmas's, and all the little knickknacks and doodads are totally forgettable. We have silly amounts of stuff, and I don't need another this/that/other, especially things that I've "asked for". What kind of effort does that take? I'm worn out on "stuff".
Our recent trip down to Universal for 4 days was our family present to ourselves.
Now the little one, that's a different story, she's scoring pretty big
Very nice. We usually do a contribution through one of our friends who's involved in organizations who support Ts for Ts."Remember, you're young only once but you can be immature forever."

Let's be honest: You sleep with anything that walks on two legs. Sometimes, you're not even that discriminating

This year for my Christmas shopping it is on a strict budget, because of leaving my full time job at the half of the year and only been working part time ever since. I still managed to buy my family presents. My girlfriend's gift would have to wait next time I see her or I'll send it to her near or after her birthday, shes not here in the country.
I bought my mom a Josh Groban CD, his new album. My dad is a book that he wanted about 5 things you cant change in your life. I bought my uncle a $20 itune apps card for his iphone, but hopefully it gets fix after Christmas or that card will be useless. lol For my auntie, I bought her a VW bus mug.
For myself, well I had an early Christmas, I bought a Logitech Driving Force GT for myself and GT5.
