Considering the amount of games EA are publishing its not surprising that they want to push their own digital service on us, and why should they give valve money if they can do it them self?

    Once more into the fray.

Yeah but its on every DD service except steam.
If it was Origin exclusive i would understand they are just trying to push the service but its everywhere except steam so they are just being s*** heads towards steam and its users.

Nvidia's Kepler line right now is said to come out in Q1 2012. Maxwell line will probably be 2014 then.

Would it be worth waiting for one of those, wouldn't mind getting a new gpu sooner rather than later

Technology advances so quickly thesedays its not worth waiting for, if you do your wait will never end because there is something better released in another 3 months or so, for example.

Depends on the games you want to play.
Your average gaming PC will probably be able to max out Diablo III but if you are talking Battlefield 3 well even if you wait i still dont think you will be able to max out the game. Battlefield 3 is basically Crysis where they make a game where almost all PCs cant max it out so you would be waiting a long time before maxing that out. I suggest getting a 590 or 2 580s in SLI if you can afford them. It will last awhile and should do pretty damn well with Battlefield 3.
I have 2 560 TI's in SLI and loving it.
I can wait for the new line.

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to run BF3 pretty well. I get between 50-70fps on Crysis 2 with everything set on ultra with DX11 and the high texture pack.

I am looking to getting 2 590's but I obviously won't be buying them both at the same time as I don't have £1100 to spend on computer parts at one time. Will hopefully get another soon after the first though

Think i'm going to hold off getting a laptop and spend the money towards my PC instead.
A new Motherboard, CPU and GPU will end up costing me around the same i was willing to spend on the laptop.

How much of a difference do you think we will see with the new GPUs ?

I reckon ( if devs start to put effort into making PC versions of a game) graphics like crysis 2 as you typical low settings. I want the annoying bugs like pop ins gone for good!

That would be nice if that happened, I won't hold my breath though. When you play a game like the Witcher 2 you see how good they could look if more developers used their initiative.

I think at this stage though more and more developers will start taking advantage of the power even a mid range gaming PC can do and it should blow the consoles out of the water

Have you already got a 1366 system? You could always upgrade to an i7 2600k?

Gaming wise, the 2600k is better than the 980 and is a hell of a lot cheaper too.

Do Intel still use those crappy push pins for their stock heatsinks? I am always scared of pressing too hard and snapping the motherboard and once one came out causing the CPU temp to rise to ridiculous degrees.

They do but it wasn't a problem for me. All clicked in and held properly.

I would like to have an Archon or Silver Arrow for my system but they're too expensive atm.

Finished Amnesia and Zeno Clash today.

Amnesia - Scariest game i have ever played in my life and also hella awesome puzzle adventure game. (9/10)

Zeno Clash - Very short and very weird but since i only spent $3.75 on it i dont feel bad about it being very short.
Game has guns in it but its more of a first person brawler. Its not for everyone but i somewhat enjoyed it. (6.5/10)

    Really worth it.
Piece of advice though - Dont Alt + Tab while in the game. Im not sure if its the steam version like i got but when i Alt +Tab to get out my mouse curser went away and i had to use my keyboard to get back into the game and exit the "proper" way.
