I played it just could not get into it at all. For some reason, it looks horrible graphically and the gameplay really isn't engaging for me.

I've found 'em all graphically top notch and the gameplay has been some of the best this generation. IMO of course.
Also COD section.

I like COD for the fun in playing online with friends. Zombie mode alone is totaly addictive. But i get bored after 3-4 months of playing as the gameplay is like all the other cod games before, nothing new but still fun, for me COD is a fun game online.
Also, the graphics may not be the sharpest but at least the framerate is a fluid 60fps unlike most first person shooters where the framerate is 30 and because of that, the game looks and runs beautifuly.
But to me, once Killzone 3 comes out in February, it's bye bye COD !

Nah I think it sucks. Tried each one, can't get into them. I'll stick to Battlefield.

multiplayer is very boring
but the campaign is always awesome
got MW2 finished it played multiplayer for like 2 weeks then sold it
wont bother with BO and all CODS after it

I find it extremely boring, story isn't engaging at all. I wonder what the hell am I doing here and whats going on? I prefer BF series than this..
but this is not about the comparison, I decided to try the story, and decided to play it after seeing it it played. Reguardless, it just felt boring to me. The graphic quality sucks compared to other shooters. I compared it with HD and SD and although there was a jump from 480o to 720p, there was not much a jump at all. Just a little more clarity.
It look too grainy, while other shooters are crisp clear, and a big jump from 480i to 720p.
I can save out on buying COD:BO and just go to Killzone 3 which I hope is better. It certainly looks like it, lets hope the input lag isn't there!

Its too slow for my liking. I like all wepaons available to me so I can switch to the best weapon for the situation while on the run.
Same an be said for bad company etc which I am having major problems with but thats another story for another thread.

I prefer faster games like unrea,l half life, quake, warsow Painkiller, COD is more about being defensive and hanging back whereas the game sI listed are all about being agressive and pushing forwards using superior reflexes and movements to beat your oponents instead of perks killstreaks and better weapons.
I am speaking from a PC perspective.Last edited by keefy; 12-30-2010 at 21:08.

I've had Black Ops for a couple of weeks now and just finished the single player over the last couple of days. I found the story line clever but had it figured out after they got out of the prison (he kept repeating the steps). Also when the main character met with the president my assumptions were strengthened. I think the biggest turn off for me is that the game's pace is so frantic that you don't get time to enjoy it. To lend to the frantic pace are the A.D.D. cut scenes.
In comparison, I have been finishing up Uncharted for the first time and the story mode is great. Obviously not a first person shooter but the story telling was engaging and I was eager to get to the next part. In Black Ops I just played through the levels not because I was curious about the next story twist but because I was waiting and wanting it to get better and pull me into the game.
I think that most people, like myself, buy the game for the multiplayer and the campaign mode turns out to be an added benefit. If I could of done it again I would have passed on the campaign mode and went straight into the multiplayer.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

How can you consider COD slow? I find its 60 fps with rapid gun movements extremely fast and enjoyable as a result.
Playing COD Modern Warfare than transitioning to shooters like Killzone 2 or Metal Gear Online and you'll feel like you're moving as quickly as a pelican treading oil in the Gulf of Mexico.Uncharted 2 | COD MW2 | GTA IV | MGS4 | FFXIII | LBP | Killzone 2 | inFamous | wipEout HD Fury
Fat Princess | echochrome | SSHD | SSFII | PixelJEden | Heavy Rain | TheLastGuy| Siren: BC | Lumines SN | more..

CoD MP lost me a long, long time ago, after CoD 1 on the PC. I have tried it since then and it hasn't changed a bit. Bunch of spawn camping, bunny hopping, nade fragging, glitch griefing.
Just slogged through CoD:BO campaign on the PC and that was dreadful. The BO is so appropriate. Talk about getting lead around on a leash, this Follow thing has to be a new low. The narrow corridor tunnel path has been characteristic of CoD since 1 but at least in 2 and 3 there were a few alternate paths. The storyline in BO was preposterous. Supposedly it was supposed to be a prequel link to MW. The whole thing was ridiculous and I doubt I will ever bother with CoD again (CoD 9?).

Not my type of series, gave one of the demos a go. I can play MAG fine, I just really struggled with the MW2 demo.

That is true but interms of single player I actually enjoyed Cod4 alot more than Blops, I got bored way before I gave up due to poor performance also as mentioned previous by someone Blops does funnel you about and dictate what you can and cannot do, there was so many times I couldnt I couldn't look in a certain direction, run or draw aim my weapon, it pissed me off to the point of it felt like I was fighting against the game ratehrthan playing with it.Last edited by keefy; 12-30-2010 at 23:15.

I think Call of Duty is pretty good, but I've decided not to buy them anymore since I'm not really into playing multiplayer as much as I used to be. I'm more of a campaign and coop guy, and there are other games that deserve the buy much more. Sometimes I see CoD as the cancer of gaming, and it's giving gaming as a whole a bad image (it didn't start out this way... It's mostly Activision's fault once they saw how much money they could make after the success of CoD4). Give me Uncharted, Infamous, Mass Effect, Killzone, etc anyday over a generic FPS. Only Call of Duties I've played are CoD4 and MW2 and I'm not into the multiplayer enough to justify getting another one unless MW3 is mind blowing (which is sort of doubt).
Also, CoD isn't that great graphically. I mean sure it looks good, and has some epic moments, but I wouldn't call it "top notch" or anything. I don't own Black Ops, but I've been told that it's a downgrade graphically.
Also, I don't find CoD boring, but I don't think it deserves all the attention it's getting. It's really over hyped, and I find that annoying (you know like how everyone starting hating on Avatar because of the hype).Last edited by bigCman123; 12-31-2010 at 02:18.
