I have the same thing with my Alienware laptop, for games you have to set profiles so that the game runs using the GPU in Nvida control panel. I know for Minecraft you have to do it for the Minecraft .exe and also the Java exe

Sincerely i dont know how to roll back to the previous drivers. When i uninstalled all this NVIDIA crap the cursor would stop correctly on the right side but all programms still use the integrated card but when i went to the nvidia drivers section and scanned my drivers the website told me that my drivers are up to date. Now i have installed all this latest NVIDIA stuff once again and all of my problems still persist.
BTW what settings picture do you need? I can post my specs but the pictures of my nvdia panel wont help as all the settings are described in german.
SPECIFICATIONS:
I7 3.4 GHZ
8 GBS RAM 1333 MHZ
1TB Hard Drive
NVIDIA GTX555 + Integrated Intel Graphics.

UPDATE:
Ok guys so now I have changed some of the setting in my NVIDIA Control Panel. When i went to the Resolution change option my current resolution was 1920x1200 which was crazy as my 27 inch Samsung monitor has the maximum resolution of 1920x1080. So i changed the resolution from 1920x1200 to 1920x1080 in the Resolution Change and in the Desktop Size and Position Settings. I thought that the cursor issue will now go away as i set the right resolution. Well nothing at all changed. The cursor problem sill persists and the only noticeable change is that the resolution settings now shows 1920x1080 instead of 1920x1200 which is right but still didnt fix the issue. I also remember that before the NVIDIA stuff update when i clicked on my right mouse button on an application there was an option like with which graphics card you would like to run this programm, however after the update this option disappeared which is strange.
If you need any additional info please let me now. Currently im trying to fix the issues by myself but i surely need your help.
EDIT:
After restarting my computer the resolution settings in the NVIDIA control panel went from 1920x1080 back to 1920x1200. This is just absurd, nvidia control panel is probably the worst graphics control panel with the worst interface and performance.
EDIT 2:
Ok guys you probably thing that im mad but im just trying to fix my issues and then at the end write a complete solution guide. Now i have finally progressed and fixed the cursor issue. So i went in the windows control panel this time and noticed that there the resolution was also set to 1920x1200. There were two monitors displayed and each one had its own number. The monitor 1 had a name NVD SIM DISP the monitor 2 had a name SMT27A950 which is the model name of my monitor. So what i did was at first set both monitors resolution to 1920x1080 and then set the option to display only the monitor 2. After doing so my mouse cursor stops correctly at the right side of the screen. What i also noticed is that when i try to run the NVIDIA control panel it says that no nvidia graphics card were detected and then closes itself, this happened after i fixed the cursor issue.
Let me know what you think guys.Last edited by Cybertox; 08-09-2012 at 13:31.

I called Alienware customer service and after 40 minutes via remote control the alienware staff was able to solve my problem. Cant really tell you how he did that but the option in nvidia the control panel which lets you choose the prefferred card appeared after he did something in bios, well actually i did that the guy just guided me blindly by telling which button to press and such stuff. Damn i sacrificed the whole day just to fix something which should work by itself. However the NETframewrok problem still persist and i need help regarding that issue, please post if you may have any solution!
I got pretty nervous when the staff had remote control over my computer and some of my folders contained game cracks and other stuff :P

Sounds to me you are usign the HDMI which is only the Intel onboard video so if you switch it off it will not display anythng.
Thats why I asked if you have it in the correct port.
netframework is that the same as .net?

I see. The support docs don't say that or at least make it clear.
If I were you I would just get a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter or cable and set the BIOS to "discrete" that way you shouldn't have the problem of it selecting the wrong device since its always using the GTX 550.Last edited by keefy; 08-09-2012 at 17:12.

@Keefy
DVI - GTX 555
Mini HDMI - GTX 555
HDMI - Both
The issue with the video cards is now resolved but the problem with the NETframework persists.
These are the only installed NETFrameworks. Even when i uninstalled all the frameworks the error still persisted.

shouldn't you have 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 also?
you could also try this
taken from this page....but this is for 2.0, which you don't have o.OUnregister and then reregister Windows Installer
This action corrects most situations. Additionally, this action does not affect any currently installed programs that use the Windows Installer.
Unregister Windows Installer. To do this, click Start, click Run, type msiexec /unregister in the Open box, and then click OK.
Reregister Windows Installer. To do this, click click Start, click Run, type msiexec /regserver in the Open box, and then click OK.

I wont risk by trying out that outdated solution. By the way guys im having now new issues, yes again. I think is NVIDIA who is fucking everything up. When im surfing in the internet or watching videos in youtube, both of my speakers work correctly, i tested them even in the windows sound settings. When i launch and play Diablo 3 only the right speaker works, i tried changing options but that didnt work. I guess the new version of NVIDIA HD AUDIO fucked everything up. The microsoft netframework issue is still unresolved.
I must say that NVIDIA is getting on my nerves cause it caused all this problems to happen on my computer. I wish i had an ati radeon instead of this piece of shit which only causes issues.
Damn now im not even sure if youtube videos also work properly, the left speaker seems not as loud as the right should be. Man im going insane with all this problems.
EDIT: I tried Burnout Paradise and the sound there seems to be ok, both speakers work right.Last edited by Cybertox; 08-10-2012 at 09:39.

an outdated solution for a problem described as outdated

were you messing with system files or something? or did it pop up on its own? did you install something a month ago?
also, could you give the actual error? or is this; "NETframework couldnt start because an error occurred and framework is outdated so try to update..." what it actually says?
try this to verify the framework:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/arc...3/8999004.aspx
for the speaker problem, check that the balance for the speakers is correct.Last edited by Fijiandoce; 08-10-2012 at 10:56.

that isn't a net framework problem per se, it could be any number of programs.
have you run the tool from the link i gave? it checks to see if the .net framework isn't corrupt. if that is fine then its definitely a program you installed that is having some incompatibility issue.
to check the balance,
-right click on the volume speaker in the taskbar
-select playback devices
-select the default speaker
-open its properties
-select the levels tab
-click balance
-both left and right should show as equal

I balanced the speakers and then verified framework with the tool. It said product verification succeeded.

check your start up programs.
-open the start menu
-all programs
-and find the folder called "Startup"
move whatever's in there onto the desktop.
restart.
if still persist
do this.
open the start menu again (this one will take a while)
-in the search bar type in msconfig
-select the program
-select the "Startup" tab
-uncheck these 3 or 4 at a time. after unchecking, restart the PC. if it persist re-check the boxes and uncheck a different 3 or 4. (avoid intel and microsoft until last....dont uncheck your antivirus though)
these are only programs so no damage to PC
if one of your programs is causing it then this should stop it. otherwise windows files are playing up.
if it is one of the programs, you still need to re-check the box in msconfig before uninstalling/repairing
otherwise windows will never forget the registry entry
if still playing up you can try the sfc /scannow
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...e-checker.html
this is for windows files.

Have disabled some of the startup applications and the start up error still persists. The startup folder i found in the all applications windows menu was empty. This is a picture of the applications which start up

have you run sfc /scannow from the cmd console yet? if not then hold off for a bit. if you have, did it say anything?
-try restarting with all unchecked
-remember to re-check the checkbox after restarting
apologies for asking you to do so much but i can only help over the interwebs
its kinda slow this way.
if you're still with me, try windows features:
-open start menu
-control panel
-programs
-select 'turn windows features on or off'
it should look like this:
make sure the correct boxes are checked.
so whilst windows 7 comes with the previous frameworks built in sometimes a program specifically needs a .net framework. (im not sure why)
for instance, here is mine:
a program i used (i forget which) wouldn't work so i needed 1.1. hence i have 1.1 installed also.
Also, is your windows up to date?
prolly should have asked this first

ok so we're sort of entering endgame here

two more things to do.
first: no restart for this one
-open the start menu
-type in eventvwr
-in the left column open the Windows Logs
-click on "System" (it might take a while to load)
-in the second column scroll down (use the button on the table and click downward) until you find an "Error" in the "level" section
-take note of the first error and its source
now look for errors with the same source.
report the "Source" here.
im guessing its a game utility or something
if its not here thne secondly its time to run sfc /scannow
this will fix .net framework files as well as windows files
to do this:
-open up start menu
-type in "cmd"
-select the program
-type in sfc /scannow (there is a space between sfc[space]/scannow)
hopefully its fixed now. if it isn't and windows isn't reporting it then you've prolly got a virus.
