PSP 2 revealed in gameinformer #13
Let me know if old, and if so feel free to thrash.
googled it but couldn't find much.
UPDATE: If you look closely in the beginning of the vid you clearly can see "Uncharted title already in the works". Lets see if how this one pans out, could be fake, could be real.

If that's the actual design, I'm not sold at all. Don't get me wrong, I have a PSPGo and I really like it but the type of analogue stick it uses needs to be better for the PSP2. Doubling that same style just doesn't work for me. It's not comfortable to use for any reasonable amount of time.
Better design and better placement of the sticks, for me.

Why didn't she just post scans? Also, why would GI have the exclusive, surely this is an E3 thing. I bet it's just a mock-up.

Damn this one better be real. The kids really sad if he went this far with a hoax.
I hope this is true.
-No annoying UMD/Drive loading sound every second (so irritating)
-Having no disc drive will mean less power drainage
-A lot more memory compared to UMD's and Carts
-Devs can choose memory stick sizes for different games
-Universal format

I don't. Memory sticks are more expensive than optical media and we certainly won't get large storage capacity. Nothing greater than 4GB in my humble opinion..

If you look at the specs... Yes. It's fairly safe to assume right now due to multiple reports the PSP2 has 1GB of RAM. If games can use even 75% of this on the handheld it has a 50% advantage over both current consoles. In most games to date the biggest "hogs" of space on a disc are (outside of pre rendered movies) audio and textures. Considering this drastically increased amount of space over its predecessor, which was already sporting games over 1.2GB in size with its measly 32MB+4MB Edram configuration, I don't see it as being unreasonable to predict exponential growth in space requirements.
Its true that compression methods will probably be much better on this device than on the PSP\PS2, but simply looking at the specs of this thing and a "near HD" screen (many are claiming it IS fully 720p HD) those kinds of leaps in tech won't make as big a dent as necessary to keep this stuff under 4GB reasonably.
The Xbox 1 had games well over that amount. So did the PS2.
And memory sticks are considerably more expensive than most all forms of optical storage.

I'll have to confirm this when mine comes in the mail... some things she/he said aren't clicking.
why on earth would they sell games on mem sticks? The cost is too prohibitive. What I think it means is that you'll save your games ON a memory stick, and they will be sold DD only. That is too crazy and would basically doom the system before it's even released.
I'm thinking the pic in the article is a mock up, and the info is based on rumors, etc., from the internet. No way the PSP2 is getting it's public announcement from GI instead of E3, etc.
The kid did a poor job of reporting on the GI article for sure.

There have been other leaks from this GameInformer magazine that were of less importance, quite weird something as big as a PSP2 announcement would be "leaked" by some crappy youtube vid and no other source has picked this up. This really has all the marks of a fake:
-the image is all blurry (why do these people who upload ZOMG EXCLUSIVE REVEALS always have THE WORST CAMERAS IN EXISTENCE?)
-it has an image of a mock-up that sorta looks like it could be the real deal (though this just looks like a PSP Go with two analogue sticks/whatever)
-the "information" is a mix of some common rumours and not-too-hard-to-come-up-with made up stuff that could easily be true, but not necessarily (i.e. trophies for PSP2, a better PS Store for PSP2 etc.)

Looks like a fake to me. Wasn't there a similar article with a mock-up design of the PSP2?.
~Edit: Found it and the article is different so nevermind. I really hope that the PSP 2 doesn't look like that. I prefer something different.Last edited by Fon; 01-09-2011 at 04:06.

assuming sony would only reveal at a show, what would the next possible show for the psp2's announcement be?

WOOOOOOOOW. When I saw this I knew I had to make an account just for this. THIS IS NOT THE PSP2!!!!!! I have the exact same issue and article of Gameinformer and I can say right now that this ******* is a dirty piece of ****. The article is about idea's of what the PSP2 will be like. I know that the camera used in the video is crappy and that its hard to make out the details of what the article say's but if you look hard enough you should notice that on the next to the image of the mock-up it says its a "artist's rendition" in very small print. Honestly though its a PSP GO with a 2 on the end and a 2nd analogue stick slapped on it. SONY or any other big company for that matter whould never put out such utter ****.
