Just finished Dead Island and really enjoyed the heck out of it. Usually I'll sit down to play for an hour or so and end up playing for 3-4. The only thing that REALLY pissed me off was when you completed the game, there's no free roam afterwards. Sure, you can start a new game+ that allows all your stats to carry over to a new game but I just don't want to go through the whole thing again right now. I really wanted to go do quests that I left behind for later.

Resistance 3 ill give a 8.9/10 good fun, but not better than r2 in terms of story telling.
dead island 7/10 -2 for little support for ps3 version. i beat it twice with buddies before they can patch it, pathetic. one of the glitchiest games ive played. still enjoyable though

Resistance 3
8/10
It's atmosphere was what kept me playing, along with some cool weapons. Everything else has been seen before and honestly, I was a bit tired of it by the end of the 10 hour campaign.

Just finished ICO. Easily a 9/10. Such a brilliant little game, still get goosebumps at the end sequence. The HD upgrade has served the game well.
Now, onto Shadow of the Colossus.

I have played many games but like to rate some games which I like to play very much.
COD MW2 - 9/10
Battlefield 2 – 7/10
True Crime- 9/10
GTA San Andreas – 10/10

Last games i played were:
Vanquish - Good game overall, fast and interesting gameplay but the game is a little too short, but can be interesting to replay. 8/10
Resistance of Fate - Interesting Tactical RPG, the gameplay is very solid and nonetheless complex at the beginning, but is the strongest point of the game imo as it can be really challenging.
The story progress slowly, revealing keys points as you progress, but might remain a little confusing. 9/10

Its not as bad as the reviews make it out to be as long as you don't have high expectations.
Once more into the fray.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Bought this game although i didnt enjoy the demo since its only 18$ now and it did have interesting locations from the demo end and screens and people said it had a interesting story but the overall game is very dissapointing. Im not a huge fan of Ninja Theory but i can see why this game didnt do that well its one of those games that feels really shallow in gameplay but somehow you end up playing it all the way because everything is so easy to find and trophies are easy to unlock the more you play, theres no really secrets and collecting the orbs just feels like it was pasted in at last minute to just give the game some replay value.
Story: 6/10
I thought this was a great stiory from the people i heard about but was severely dissapointed its decent as far as games go but i never really felt something original at all as alot proclaimed, its filled with cliches and alot is taken from dystopian movies along with a ever increasingly pms companinion in trip thats just gets more and more annoying as she is useless from beginning to end. It made me wonder if this was a mech dominated world but it seems more man dominated with the exaggerated lead character Monkey to supply hers and even Piggsy later on seemed to be as strong as Monkey. I never felts anything for the 2 characters and their development it was uninteresting thanks to Trips behaviour and Monkey was just plain boring
Graphics: 5/10
I was dissapointed with the gfx, the game looks quite bad when u play it its extremely grainty and i had to pinch my eyes in some parts to be able to see the red orbs scattered around since they mended in with the backgrounds, especially at that "wasteland" level. Theres alot of textures loading when it changes to a new level during the cutscenes aswell which really kills the atmosphere from the beginning.
Sound: 6/10
Nothing special here i didnt really hear anything exciting or captivating it seemed decent at best but no memorable tracks or sound effects
Gameplay: 6/10
This has to be one of the most shallow games ive played as far as 3rd person action games go. The fighting and upgrade system is extremely simplistic and you never really feel throughout the game that the the battle system nor the upgrading develops, the only useable one i found was the "focus attack" for your staff as the enemies tend to block alot later. The platforming and exploration its easy to see where to go all the time but theres also some areas that are annoying and you feel like you might be able to go that way but its a dead end. The camera is a huge problem aswell and it looks like theyre gonna mess up the next DMC game wit hthis aswell from the 1st gameplay trailer i saw. It tends to be zoomed in alot and is usually really erratic and zooms even further in at some small areas where you might do battle. This happened alot on the "village approach" level
Replay Value: 5/10
This game got some really cheap replay value, its easy to skip a couple of the orbs which are the main collectables in your first playthrough since some cutscenes can trigger if you go too far ahead or solve something, and you will most likely end up between 92-95% collected by the end of the level and most of the masks found which are giving you a bunch of useles sand uninteresting real life cutscenes. Now these cutscenes would have been good if they symbolised parts of the things you see in the distance of the ingame gfx but everything looks so crap in the the horizon and its just of bunch of random stuff in these small clips which last around 2 seconds.
Overall: 5/10
I cant recommend this game tbh, im glad i didnt buy it at platinum price because i honestly dont see it worth it. Alot of broken and unfulfilling gameplay mehcanics along with technical issues, there was 1 cutscene for some reason that went out of sync for me and the "Wasteland" level has a sound issue that doesnt fix itself at the 2nd part of the level where the background ambiance gets louder than the sfx and voices, this level in general was bug infested. I couldnt find the last orb in this one after 7-8 tries through it and had to delete the game data and afterwards found it on 1st try. Apparently theres a glitch with these orbs on certain parts thanks to the gfx engine. The story is nothing special and enemy variety is around 6-8 which is rather low. This game might lure you with its setting and lush green areas but those only last for the 3-4 first chapters afterwards the environment is dull and theres not enough variety in the gameplay later on. Id say only buy this crap if youre really out of 3rd person action/platform games theres much better out there.

Killzone 3: 9/10
Lovely game, had tons of fun playing through it both SP and Co-op, and the MP as well. I bought it for 20€ now that it's a bit older and the hype's gone down and people are talking shit about it, and I was honestly pleasantly surprised. Great game.
Also I haven't been around for a year (or two?) but since I don't know of any "returning" thread I'll just skip that part and say hi right here. Nice to see some old forum-lurkers are still around amongst all the new faces

Rage
Story 5/10- The game had a good foundation for a solid story but it just keeps getting worse and worse as it goes along. Pretty simple minded to be honest. It does help that the ending was absolutely abysmal. I knocked off a full point because of the ending. That bad.
Graphics 8.5/10- This is kind of a topic for debate. The character models looked phenomenal. A great deal of detail all the way around. Guns looked great as well. Although this game suffers from texture problems. Pop in as well just muddy textures of the surroundings when you get right up on them but they look amazing from afar. The graphics would have gotten a 9.5 if it wasn't for the problems listed above.
Gameplay 9/10- This is definitely the best part about the game. It is a superb FPS with some great driving aspects to it as well. Not to mention there are some really cool gadgets that you can create. Just to be clear this isn't really an open world game just so no one is confused. Although the areas are pretty large isn't really anything to do outside of quest. The quest are typical go here go there kind of quest that get kind of boring. But the gameplay is very solid.
Sound 8.5/10- The guns sound great, the explosions sound great, surroundings sound great. Nothing too bad here. There is some solid voice acting throughout the game too which helps out.
Replay Value- 4/10- The game is pretty good but I will say once I was at the end I was ready to be done with it. I also had no point while I was playing it did I think that I would want to play it over again. It does have car battle multiplayer but I didn't play it. I imagine it wouldn't keep you occupied that long.
Overall 7.5/10- There is a solid game wrapped in this package but it has its flaws. Like the texture and trophy glitching(for those that care) that hold it back. Could have been much better than what it was but overall it is worth a playthough.
20 Hours Playtime (A bunch of people were under this by multiple hours but I went for everything and took my time while playing it.) The average is around 13-14 hours for most.
Difficulty: Normal

I'm still working on the review, but the latest game I've been playing is Batman: Arkham City. You can read my impressions here- http://metalarcade.net/2011/10/batma...y-impressions/
Beat it last night, I'm pretty sure I'll either give it a 5/5 or 4.5/5. Great game.
Before that I just reviewed Dungeon Defenders http://metalarcade.net/2011/10/dungeon-defenders-review/
Gave that a 4/5, great action rpg/ tower defense co=op game.
