Fallout 3
Fallout 3
Graphics- 7/10 The graphics are nice, but there are older games with better graphics. I did think that the environment of the Wasteland was so depressing at points that I just wanted to shut off the game and stare into the sun.
Customizing the character at the beginning of the game is kind of a waste of time, since you never see your character in conversations with others. The only time you see his hair and face is if you attack an enemy in the RPG mode and you aren't wearing a helmet. It's an added feature that you really don't get to enjoy.
Gameplay- 5/10 The most frustrating aspect of this game is it tries to be both an RPG (role-playing game) and FPS. I'm not a big fan of FPS, but the mechanics of playing it as an FPS are way off. The crosshairs are small, when you shoot you feel like your missing - it just doesn't work well. An additional problem is because of the AP system incorporated into the RPG turn-based mode, when you run out of AP points in a battle, you have only 2 choices: either run away, or continue the battle in FPS mode until your AP regenerates. I really thought this was annoying. I bought the game because a lot of review websites referred to it as an RPG not an FPS.
Finally, if you decide to switch into third person mode, it's even harder to fight a battle. The crosshairs become so small and aiming becomes way off.
The gameplay could have been great had they limited the player to just the RPG mode.
I also wish that armor and weapons didn't need repairing. It's annoying to finish a mission, collect money, and then instead of using it to reward myself, I have to use it to repair things. Kind of like using all your salary (in the real world) just to fix broken appliances around the house that regularly break rather than going out and having fun with your money.
Story - 3/10 The story is boring. There is nothing to indicate that there is a strong relationship between you and your father pushing you to go after him.
I'm also not a big fan of unnecessary dialogue. Some of the characters you talk to just talk and talk, wasting your time, without adding anything to the story. I guess that's just me. I personally believe that dialogue in the game should be limited to achieving a goal in the game (side missions, main mission clues, etc.) rather than just talking for the sake of talking.
Sound- 1/10 I'm not a big fan of the 1950's musical theme. I thought it was boring.
Replay Value- 5/10 You could try to play the game as a bad guy or a good guy, but I don't think I could try to play it again.
Online N/A-
Overall- 5/10 It's not a great game, but I wouldn't say it was horrible either.
Bugs: When I installed the game on the PS3 I immediately downloaded the latest version to resolve any bugs. Even after the patch, there is a reoccurring problem in the game which is frustrating. Sometimes you'll find you walked onto something (let's say a rock or a gap in a tree) and you're stuck. You can't get out of it. You can't jump off. You're just stuck. You're only solution is to load a save, wait until some enemy comes and kills you (if there are any in the area), or rapid travel to another location (which isn't available always, depending on where you are and if there are enemies nearby). You can get into this situation sometimes if an enemy hits you or shoots you and you are pushed onto something like a part of a large rock that the programmers didn't want you to even get onto.
Note: I have to emphasize that this is just my opinion and I know that a lot of good gamers enjoyed this game.
Finally, I feel kind of weird not enjoying this game although most of the review sites praise the game a lot. I really wanted to enjoy the game.

Infamous 2. Got it today. Played it for about 5 hours. Didnt like it at all. Trading it in tomorrow for a 2nd hand game of La Noire.
Slow, Boring and Reptitive.
Infamous 2 - 3/10.

Shouldn't you play through the game before giving it a score? Sure you can judge it for yourself, but for all we now, you might just have played it wrong.
If I were to score Final Fantasy 7 the first time I'd have given it a 1/10! *lol*

That was the plan, as i was looking forward to this game. But right from the get go, it is just boring and slow as hell. To be honest, it is the only game that i got on release date that i honestly want to trade it in already less than 24 hours of buying it. Thats just my opinon on the game.

Infamous 2
Gameplay 9/10- Everything just seems so much smoother in this one as far as navigation of the map goes. There are some powers to help you get from A to B a lot faster as well. There are a bunch of new powers this time around. Some great some pretty useless but they all are effective if you use them to your advantage. I mostly stuck to the same powers throughout the game once I obtained them. The Amp is a cool aspect that was added as well. It is a fork looking melee weapon that Cole uses. It is quite handy and does a lot of damage in the later part of the game.
Graphics 9.5/10- For an open world game, this is top notch. The city looks very good and very New Orleans-esque. There are a lot more stand out buildings this time. Because the world is not as bunched up as Empire City was. These buildings look great too.
Sound 9/10- Very strong sound effects. The soundtrack in the background is very good as well. Nothing wrong here.
Story 8/10- They expanded on the story from the first pretty well. There are two stories going on throughout the game and it kind of takes away from the flow. Towards the end just felt kind of rushed. The Good ending that I played was ok. Nothing great but not bad. Nix character is ****ing ANNOYING though. Kuo is pretty bad voice actor too. Everything else is fine.
Replay Value 8/10- Like the first there are 2 different paths to take in this game. This time seems the story evolves around you being good and evil a bit more this time. Plus there are Blast Shards, side missions, Dead Drops (But you will likely get this through playing), and more. It will keep you busy. My playthrough took about 25 hours with all shards collected.
Overall 9/10- I enjoyed Infamous 2 more than the first. It just seemed to not feel as repetitive is Infamous. The fact that everything runs much smoother this time around. Getting from point to point doesn't feel as tedious as before. One of my main complaints about Infamous. Great game, must play.

Metal Gear Solid 4
Graphics- 10/10 The graphics are excellent. The cut-scenes are beautiful. A lot of attention was paid to detail.
Gameplay- 8.5/10 The gameplay is definitely fun and great, although I have to criticize some aspects of the gameplay. I think it's wrong to include gameplay elements if they are almost rarely used in the game. One of these is CQC (Close Quarter Combat). I only really needed it two times in the game and that was only because it was required then. Otherwise it was really something extra. It's hard to get up at an enemy without causing an alert just to use CQC. And unlike Metal Gear Solid 1, it's hard to know if the enemy is facing you or facing away from you using Snake's radar, so you don't know if moving towards an enemy will cause an alert or not.
I thought the bosses were too easy to defeat.
The parts of the game where you are moving in a vehicle are a little too easy. I almost could swear that if I were to have put down the controller during those parts of the game, I would still have been able to successfully complete them. Yes, I'm exaggerating, but they were too easy. To me they felt more just like a cut-scene with minimal gameplay elements.
I wish more emphasis was placed on stealth and being forced to study enemy patterns using your radar to determine the proper course of action to complete the section, kind of like the first game in the series.
Story- 8/10 The story is made beautiful by the cut-scenes. I really think they are beautiful. I remember when I finished early NES games and thought they were boring mostly because there was nothing really interesting to see upon completing levels or the whole game. You won't feel like that here.
My only problem with the story is it's complicated, and I'm still not sure I clearly understand what happened. Too much time is spent in the cut-scenes explaining events in the series. If you aren't an old fan, it's hard to follow. There are too many factions, parties, and characters in the game's history.
There are also some hilarious jokes that really made me laugh out loud.
I think it's funny/nice to include health advice (although I never followed it) during installation of different parts of the game. The advice even changes according to the real time of day.
Sound- 10/10 The sound and music is great. What else can I say?
Replay Value- 9/10 I'm sure it would be fun to complete the game using different tactics, such as relying only upon non-lethal methods.
Online NA/10- It's there, but I haven't tried it yet. I don't know how the community is either. If someone knows if there is an active community, please post.
Overall- 9/10 MGS4 is a great game that no one should miss.
I can't wait for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection this November.
