That's the weird thing. This game is so easy in certain places, and then rapes you completely in other situations.

I'm up to the last bosses. No spoilers but I'm getting brutally killed. I haven't had much trouble with the game so far, but maybe I didnt grind enough? I'm 16 hours playtime and spend a good 2 hours trying to finish it last night with no luck.

Any recommendations in how to go about it?

Yep grind. Find the optimal lvling guide and what good early monster u can get.

In one word: awesome.
It's all a current generation FF should be. Story wise, it's a little disperse, but it's a vast improvement over XIII. If you didn't like XIII though, you won't like this one. Same formula, just improved and expanded.

For the love of God, don't spoil it.

Anyway, my playtime is already over 40 hours with a lot of the side stuff done..might go back and do even more now. Thing I hate about dying and quitting at the final boss is you always have to fight all the sub bosses again before you get back to it.

Just started the game and I was so mesmerized with the cutscenes that I had to let go the controller until I saw buttons appearing on the screen leaving me like "Holy Shizz!". Priceless.

A lot of reviewers say that the graphics arent that great, that its more of the same stuff that was in FFXIII... but those graphics were jaw dropping, I agree at some parts, even in-game its just amazing

Yeah don't know what they are seeing but this game is stellar looking. Top notch in my book. TBH I feel a little lost. I just beat Bresha Ruins 5 AF and not really sure if it matters but I just picked one of the gates to enter. I assume that I will have to open the other gate eventually. Great game so far. Also are some of the monsters maxed out after level 1 or are there other ways to further their progression. Like the Hoplite says that I have maxed out the monster. Is that as far as that monster goes? Or is there another way to progress. Other monsters have more progress but I don't have the proper level items for them.

Hoplite can only reach level 20 since it has the premature trait. Anyway, the level 2 items needed to make your monsters grow further will be available a little later in the game.
