Anyway, as expected all the preorder DLC is being released for anyone to buy on the store today including the Omega boss battle. I'll be getting it.

Question: I'm not really a big RPG fan specially jrpg, but i'm looking for a change for a change here,i'm tired of all the shooters.I never really play jrpg because i don't like the turn based static combat idea. But i heard that both FF 13 & FF 13-2 have some kind of real time combat system. The thing is most reviews don't say good things about 13 but it cab be bought cheap and it's like a prequel to 13-2.So which one do you guys recommend ?!

Final Fantasy XIII was really my first Final Fantasy game as well and I love it. I've played a few others and I loved them as well. I never was a big rpg fan either. A lot people don't like 13 simply because it doesn't follow the traditional FF formula and there is an aspect of linearity to it. But I thought it was a great game and tbh I was doing the same thing as you. I just wanted to try something new and it opened my eyes to looking at other games that I might not play. FF 13 can be had for cheap so I say go for it. If you don't like it don't waste your time with 13-2 imo. Too much of the same stuff minus the linear aspect.

I personally disliked FF XIII very much, but I noticed a lot of newcomers to the series enjoyed it a lot. To answer your question, battles are quasi-real-time. I'd recommend you downloading the demo for XIII-2 and see how you like the battle system.
But if you want a good introduction to the JRPG world with a dynamic combat system, I'd recommend you getting FF XII for the ps2. It had a MMORPG-like battle system and a very compelling world and characters. This is a game that had quite a lot of mixed reactions from the fans, but it has the highest metacritic ratings for a FF game. If you have a ps2, definitely start there.

Nice to hear some optimistic opinion, but i guess i will just go with 13-2.a lot of people and reviews saying that it improved a lot over 13,and they added some Pokemon like monster training aspects. So i guess i'll just go with the better one.
Appreciate your opinion buddy, but i find it hard to go back a generation or 2 just to get into a franchise. The makes me lean towards FF other than other games in the same genre is that it has some great graphics and visuals ( from what i've seen at least ) , i'm not saying that graphics is a very important thing but it can be a huge advantage if combined with good gameplay.Last edited by Abdou23; 03-13-2012 at 10:11.

No problem. I personally don't care much for outdated graphics. But I'd still recommend taking a look because FF XII was released late in the ps2 cycle and it has in my opinion one of the best graphics the ps2 ever had. I looked my brother playing it recently in his 50 inch tv and it looked gorgeous. The one thing I would complain would be the character animation. They look a bit stiff at times. And the gameplay was fantastic too.
But as I said before, XIII also seems to be a good starting point. I personally disliked it, but it's because I've been into the series for a longer time.

This monthly DLC thing for FFXIII-2 is annoying me. Especially the story DLC. Now SE is just milking the game and adopting the western dev DLC policy.

Wow...the attention to detail and the accuracy of the recreation is just brilliant !!

I will be very happy if they keep fanservice like this up, this is awesome. Lets us know what some of our favorite characters would look like if they ever remade them.
