    Controller Details Revealed?

" Patent office registration of old technology sparks speculation

An ageing patent office document, cryptically resembling possible specifications for the controller of Nintendo’s new Revolution console, has sparked slight confusion among a small group of websites to notice the listing.

At first glance the patent document’s complicated technical jargon describes gyroscopic tilt technology and an LCD screen - features commonly mooted for Nintendo’s top-secret new Revolution controller - however closer inspection reveals that the listing is actually from technology Nintendo filed back in 2003.

While at first excited from potentially new confirmation of what the Revolution’s controller would finally deliver, certain things - other than the date - just didn’t add up.

Hidden deep in the depths of jargon few would bother to read to, details of cartridges and CPUs complicated matters. While potentially this could have been describing some sort of extra power for the Revolution controller, it is actually describing tilt technology for a game that makes use of Game Boy Advance and Gamecube compatibility.

The patent form offers the option to view drawings and scanned documents of the device, which while at first won’t work in most browsers, will be visible once you download and install an online TIFF viewer. "

    [LIVE] Blu-Ray Buy-A-Thon Days

Just recently on April 15th, members of the avsforums organized and went on a buying spree with the hopes of overtaking Blu-Ray and celebrate the birthday of HD-DVD. The day after the Blu-ray camp and the PlayStation fanbase, out of anger at the stunt which saw thousands of HD-DVDs being bought from Amazon and other retailers, decided to hold their own Buy-A-Thon but vowed to accomplish the great sales numbers.

Using the site EProductWars we can see the effect of this Buy-A-Thon had on the charts. It is expected that Blu-Ray will overtake HD-DVD within the next few days.

As a result from this temporary spike, members of PSU's PS3Forums have teamed up with members of the Official PlayStation Forums. to show how a Buy-A-Thon should be done. In less the one day, the two forums have nearly one hundred members signed up.

The Buy-A-Thon dates are planned to be on April 21st and May 27th. If you would like to participate visit one of the forums above

Should this really be a news article? It makes the site look biased in my opinion.
I think PS3 should have a built in memory card!!!

Matt, did you bother to read through what you'd written? It was quite poorly written.

Why is this article so short> Why is there no mention of AVSForums? Where are the stats relating to the sales figures of HD DVD? All this info should have been included to make this news worthy and is available on ps3forums. This article is plain and gives no background information onto what the buy-a-thon even was or who organised it (AVS). I have no problem with the subject ,but I dislike strongly the lack of thought and effort put into this...Not news worthy as it stands.

That's really not good enough. Why are 1 minute articles being put up as news?

ill do a quick re-write with Bhav's edit. Like I said I wrote it in less then a minute lol.

Seb, Im used to if an article isnt up to standards Bhav will just leave me a short message on what needs to be added. Surprisingly he didnt do this.. which isnt normally. Ill apologize to Bhav though for doing that short of an article.
