Need for Speed Most Wanted -- This Is Next Gen?

    http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/8585/N...0-Screenshots/

Developed in Vancouver, B.C. by EA Canada, Need for Speed Most Wanted challenges players to out-race rivals and evade an entire fleet of cops to become the most notorious street racer.

Need for Speed Most Wanted delivers a unique, fast-paced and gripping ride in the racing genre as players build up their Rap Sheet and street cred to move their way up the Black List to become the most wanted racer on the streets. Players will go head-to-head with the top drivers on the scene as well as strategically evade more than half dozen cops at any one time. Add in a dynamic open world, new gameplay and customization as well as tuners, supercars, muscles and sports cars and Need for Speed Most Wanted will be on every gamer's "must-have" list.

Electronic Arts has revealed two new cars that will be featured in the game; the Mazda RX-8 and the Porsche Carerra GT II.

Here are two new screen shots of the next Need for Speed on the 360 and I have to say this looks like crap... These photo screem current gen do - able. The earlier pictures looked better... I have a feeling EA's starategy on all next gen games will be to shoot for the "Sweet spot" where each every game can be ported without a lot of problems and not take advanatage of each systems strength.. This is the problem with PORTS.

I would rather have exclusives titles in my collection. This way Im assured that the game will have a better chance of using the console it was designed for used to more potential...

Im scratching this off my short list of must haves.. Utter crap.

Yeah i agree with you those screenshots don't look so good do they? I'll probably wait to see more screen shots and game reviews for this game before i even think about buying it.

If this is the way all ports are going to look, then I think there will be many more exclusives this time around.

Your right Dorfdad about the port stuff because its cheaper and easier for EA to make an easy to port game that will work on every system instead of building different versions from the ground up. Thats why madden and live look very similar on xbox, ps2, and gamecube. I think the different hardwares ability to do software improvements like FSAA will make the difference.

Hey, Algebra has a real world use! I hope that the developers like EA would take the time to enhance the games from Revolution capabilities, to 360 capabilities, then to PS3 capabilities if it is indeed faster. Although they stand to make much more money just porting it to all the systems.

The problem will be when games start actually using the Multi-threading, Each system has a unique way of running those threads, though I think the PS3 will auto do that? not sure.

But what will happen is that EA i suppose will make games run off a single processor that way they can be ported effortlessly all the while screaming development times are longer hence of increased prices...

Exclusives will be the games to get in all honesty, I just cant see spending the extra cash on a 360 if this is the level of quality Im going to get.. PC outdoes this easily and for an investment of 400-500 I want the sytem to scream NEXTGEN
I know the system will be able to do it, and Im sure Ill get one but Deep in my heart I know the PS3 will be a better machine and I should just wait... I will have to wait till christmas time and see if the 360 has what it takes...or if developers will utilize it...

Yes but when you look at this game.. then you look at games that are exlcusives such as PGR:3.. you notice a whole difference in quality.. if you should blame anyone blame EA.. dont blame 360.

Come you guys when has EA ever put there all into a game. Madden has look the same and been same for how many years now. You can't expect them to change. I'm not worried anyway I don't buy EA products.

Who needs gameplay when you have graphics! Come to think of it, I don't know why I ever played Tetris.. Those graphics are crap! Those falling blocks didnt even have Anti-aliasing or bump mapping!

    What a dreadful game!

Okay, all joking aside, you do bring up a really good point.. It really does seem kind of shoddy to make games look xbox1ish just so you don't have to spend any time in development to make a quality product.

We can only hope that the AI doesn't run all shortbus too, just to be cross platform friendly.
